Sorry I haven't updated in a really long time, but here is the next chapter. Enjoy!

The Barton's farm.
(Chloe's POV)

I sat on the porch with Lila reading her a book as Steve walked towards Tony and started talking.

"Then the big bad wolf blew the straw house in." I said quoting the book.

I heard the door open behind us and turned to see Clint walking out with Cooper.

"We're gonna fix the railing. Wanna help?" Cooper asked.

I laughed. "No, but thanks for the offer. I'm good right here."

"Suit yourself." Clint said and I mockingly glared.

I had finished reading the book to Lila when she went to go get another one, and I jumped thinking that I had heard a gun go off but realized that it was Clint using the hammer.

I think I might be going crazy.

I got up and walked over to Steve and Tony chopping wood.

"We don't know what the Maximoff kid showed him." Tony said.

I didn't catch the first part of the sentence so I wasn't sure who he was talking about.

"'Earth's mightiest heroes.' Pulled is apart like cotton candy." Steve said chopping a piece of wood.

"Seemed like you walked away alright." Tony said almost enviously.

"Is that a problem?" I asked.

"I don't trust a guy without a dark side. Call me old fashioned." Tony explained chopping some wood.

Well, he does have a point.

"Well, lets just say you haven't seen it yet." Steve retorted which sent chills up my spine.

"You know Ultron is trying to tear us apart, right?" Tony asked.

"Well, I guess you'd know. Whether you tell us is a bit of a question." I stated as Steve continued to chop wood.

"Banner and I were doing research." Tony defended.

Sure.

"That would effect the team." Steve retorted again.

"That would end the team!" Tony's voice grew. "Isn't that the mission? Isn't that the 'why we fight'? So we can end the fight? So we get to go home!"

Steve ripped a log apart in anger causing me to jump. "Every time someone try's to win a war before it starts, innocent people die. Every time."

I looked behind me when I heard footsteps and saw Laura.

Thank goodness.

"I'm sorry. Mr. Stark...Clint said you wouldn't mind, but our tractor doesn't seem to want to start at all. And I thought maybe you might..." Tony cut her off.

"Yeah, I'll give her a kick." He nodded. "Don't take from my pile." He said as he walked towards the barn.

"I'm sorry." Steve said.

"For what?" I asked.

"For scaring you. I didn't mean to." He told me.

I smiled. "It's fine. Really."

"Did you need something?"

"No. Just...had a...I don't like to relive my past. Whatever that girl did to me, it messed with my head. I almost killed Clint earlier." I said with a small laugh.
