Vanity stared up at the stage as Vince began to sing softly and Tommy was on the piano playing a melancholy tune. The remaining dust of the fog machine was starting to fade away as the orange and yellow lights were dimmed.

You know I'm a dreamer
But my heart's of gold
I had to run away high

So I wouldn't come home low
Just when things went right
It doesn't mean they were always wrong
Just take this song and you'll never feel
Left all alone

Take me to your heart
Feel me in your bones
Just one more night
And I'm comin' off this
Long and winding road

I'm on my way
I'm on my way
Home Sweet Home

Vanity was singing along with the rest of the crowd as Ryan wrapped his strong arms around her, making her lean into his chest as he placed a kiss on the side of her cheek.

It was almost as if one of the lights themselves was shining down on the couple as Nikki saw them together. He noticed the big smile on her face as they swayed back and forth, he realized then how happy she was with him and he had to get the idea out of his head that he would win her affection back.

My heart's like an open book
For the whole world to read
Sometimes nothing keeps me together
At the seams
I'm on my way
I'm on my way
Home sweet home
Tonight tonight

I'm on my way
Just set me free
Home sweet home
Home sweet home

Nikki's heart wrenched as they saw them kiss, only thinking about how he wrote these words with her in mind, not saying the song itself is for her, but she was there in the back of his head and was physically with him as he was writing it

*flashback*

"I'm on my way, home sweet home." I quietly sang to myself as I tried to put the words together,
"What do you got there?" I looked up, noticing a tired Vanity on the couch of the studio,
"Ah, nothing doll, just a song, I'm almost done and then we can go." I told her with a soft smile.

"I'll wait all night for you Sixx, take your time." She replied, leaning into the couch and closing her eyes as she pulled my jacket over her.

I couldn't stop myself from looking at her, she was just so god damn beautiful. Everything about her was: the way she carried herself, how she dressed, how her nails had to be done at all times no matter what, the way her dark brown waves fell naturally, the way she thought and spoke. Everything about her was beautiful.
