Homecoming (Pt. 3)

We took a few pictures which was really fun. We did a bunch of silly ones, and a lot of sweet romantic ones as well. When we finished using the booth, Nixon was waiting for the pictures to print out. Then suddenly the music was lowered, then the microphone was turned on. Everyone suddenly turned their attention to the front where the stage was at. The principle then started talking into the mic "How's everyone this evening?!" She asked, everyone cheered extremely excited, werewolves howling and Avians squawking and all "That's great! I'll have to thank all the volunteers that helped out with the setting up and the decorations. Culinary for stepping in for the food. And most importantly...!" She scanned the audience, then we both made eye contact, she then said "Ah! And our female Alpha and Sabre Nyx Flaws!" A spotlight was suddenly shinned on me, i was blinded and surprised by it, i heard all the cheering once again. I just nervously chuckled and waved "Actually, why doesn't our beloved Nyx come up here and tell us a few words of wisdom? To show what you can and will learn through her eyes in our beloved school" W-w-what?! A speech!? Why didn't she tell me any of this beforehand?! But everyone agreed and cheered once again. I couldn't refuse, I sighed and made my way up the stage "Nyx Flaws everyone!" I turned to spot Nixon and he just clapped for me smiling, he mouthed 'You can do it' I just smile nervously back. I walk up the stage, and grab the mic from the principal. The spotlight was turned back to me and everyone was silent "U-uh.." I said through the mic. I was such a nervous wreck. Everyone was patiently waiting, anticipating my 'words or wisdom' But i was shaking from head to toe. But then i take a deep breath, and then i start speaking 

"As most of you may know I am both the female Alpha and Sabre. I didn't come to this school to seek popularity, or a title, or anything like that. I came here to be free" I take another deep breath and kept going, making my tone more firm "I came here to finally have a school life, because this was the only school that would accept all races and would do anything in their power to keep it that way... Except..." i look down a bit, thinking how it was when i first got here "It was a mess, a complete mess, everyone hated each other. It was all competition, fights, just anger all over the place, everyone was more segregated and more apart than ever here" I gulped "The first few days here i got here i was immediately put as the omega, because of just exchanging a few words with the Male Alpha, go tripped over and twisted my foot and got a nose bleed, it still hurts walking" Everyone started murmuring "But it was also my fault, for not speaking up about it, and that how society and the norm is. They teach the strong that they can do anything, good or bad, and not be sorry for it, and for the weak to stay quiet and keep your head down and let anyone do anything to you, because they don't deserve to be considered" I gripped the mic more and more, making my voice louder and stronger "So you can imagine the disappointment i felt when i realized this school was no better than the world i experienced out there, i was more trapped here than i was out there, because of what i am..." I sighed once again to calm down the anger rising up in my voice, so i could say this important part clearly "I, Nyx Flaws, am a half breed" Everyone gasped in surprise and started whispering to one another, it seems like the news hasn't spread everywhere yet "And i am a living being, with thoughts and feelings, i can speak and you all can understand me. So, tell me, why was i treated like absolute trash?" Everyone was just silent "Because that's what you all were taught, from when you were able to understand language 'til now, that's why..." I chuckle, and then i am filled with a sense of determination "So now that i have this 'title' i am treated differently, everyone hears me, everyone sees me. I want to use that to teach just how things are truly supposed to be" I smile "By saying that we are all equal, no life is bigger or smaller than the other. I may be the female Alpha and Sabre, but i am not lower or higher than you, i am an example, and i hope a good one too, so everyone, what do you say...?" I extend my hand, like i am offering it to everyone in the crowd individually. Everyone stays silent, and i was beginning to worry. Then someone laughs in the crowd and yells "This is a load of crap!" A female voice said, a patch of the crowd turned around, and started clearing a circle for the one who said that, and... why am i not surprised by the person who said it? "Can you hear yourself? Only the strongest can ever survive, and that's the way things always been and always will be!" She seemed extremely upset with me. I calmly then responded "It's like that because we let it stay that way, but we all have the power to change that" She didn't know how to respond to me, so instead she started stomping her way to the stage. She then yelled once again "Oh yeah? Then prove it!!" She paced faster when someone yelled in the crowd "I am a halfling!!" Everyone once again turned to where the voice came from, it was Nixon
