"The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart" -Helen Keller

Exiting the elevator I make my way to Cole's apartment door. Upon reaching the door, I insert the pin that Cole had given me. Once the door dings and unlocks I open it to reveal a small hallway.

I walk inside, shutting the door as I did so. The smell of paint was distant, but it still lingered on the air.

I walk at a slow pace, taking my time to coax everything in. Whoever fixed this place had done a marvelous job.

As I neared the end of the entrance I stop,  someone was crying.

And it definitely did not sound like Cole.

I walked into the living room but I see no one in there. It was when I turned around that I realize that the sobs were coming from the kitchen.

But from my view, I could not see anything.

Not wasting any more time, I make my way into the kitchen.

That's when I see her.

The girl that has been on my mind for a while.

She is seated on the floor, with her legs folded to her side. A hand covers her mouth, most likely to prevent any sound from escaping, but it was doing a poor job at it. Instead it caused her sobs to be muffled.

"Gabriella?" I call out her name hoping to get a response from her.

She looks up at me, and I finally take in her tear-stained face. A bigger sob escapes her mouth and she removes her hand from it, turning her head to hide her face from me.

Not liking the idea, I rush down to her level, kneeling down on my knees. "Gabriella, tell me what's wrong? Why are you crying?" I grab her face with both of my hands, slowly bringing it to get a good luck at her.

My eyes roam her face, and I'm finally able to see the whites of her eyes that are now red from crying. Parts of her hair stick to her flushed cheeks due to the wetness on them.

But it was the pain in her eyes that had me completely worried for her.

It was at that moment that I realized something.

Something that would become a big factor in our future.

Something that I never thought would happen again.

And it caused a fear to settle within me.

Because she came in like a storm, taking me completely off-guard.

And it was only a matter of time before I put the pieces together.

Gabriella opens her mouth and it seems that she wants to say something, and I watch her in hope that she tells me what's wrong. But instead she closes her mouth without saying anything.

I sigh.

I move my hands so that they are completely engulfing her face before speaking. "Okay, Gabriella, I need you to tell me what's wrong. I want to help you, but I need to know what happened."

Her eyes stay focused on my face as she listens to me.

She closes her eyes briefly and winces as if she were in pain. Taking a deep breath she opens her mouth to speak. "My ring," she stops when a sob takes intervenes with her words.
