After doing some research I have found some direct quotes from people who have DID. Some say the Alter Switch- meaning when the other personality takes over can be shown in a variety of ways:
Hearing a voice in their head Cannot concentrate Feeling detached Eyes changing colour in Renjun's terms his eyes turn pitch black Dizzy and lightheaded
Some people aren't aware they are switching, losing any memory of the other personality taking over but for the books purpose I will have Renjun be aware of it

I want to just say, I have no experience with DID at all and the last thing I would want to do is to offend anyone at all!
I have no personal experience nor am I qualified to diagnose anyone or anything so I really want you guys go understand that.
If my work comes across as insensitive or offensive please let me know so I can alter anything
I am in no way poking fun at this disorder and I want to make it clear that I take these things seriously
I really hope you guys are mature enough to understand that the disorder isn't for the fantasy aspect of it, I wanted to include something more realistic and I'm careful to try my best to execute it properly
