You held one of Taylor's hands in your own while she carried your three-year-old daughter Olivia on her hip.

It's a beautiful day outside and you're enjoying some family time together. "What should we do next?" Taylor looked over at you with a curious smile. "The park, maybe?" You heard Olivia squeal and you both laughed. "The park it is."

Taylor happily swung your intertwined hands back and forth. She listened to Olivia babble happily, but the happiness was short-lived as you stepped onto the street and a car sped your way.

You saw it just a few seconds before it happened. The car sped right towards you, or rather towards Taylor and Olivia. You weren't gonna let anything happen to your girls though, and you pushed them out of the way, letting the car hit you instead.

Taylor was in a state of shock for a minute. She only snapped out of it as people started to crowd around you and put their hands on you to check for a pulse. Taylor pulled out her phone with trembling hands and called 911. Tears slid down her face as she did her best to shield Olivia from seeing what had happened.

"Y/n? Y/n" Taylor cried as she crawled over to you. She tried to ignore the turning in her stomach she felt when she saw the blood that coated your body. Taylor whimpered out little things for the operator. She couldn't form any coherent sentences but she did her best.

Olivia was grasping your ripped shirt in her small fingers and it broke Taylor's heart to have to pull her away. "Don't look, honey" she kept repeating, not wanting the little girl to see you so hurt and in so much pain.

She saw the phone from the corner of her eye and when she glanced over she saw a new group of people running over with their phones out. They were filming you as if your pain was their amusement. As if spreading the news about you being hurt was gonna bring anything good to this already devastating situation.

"Get back! Get away! Stop filming her! Can't you see she's hurt?" She cried out but was getting angrier and angrier as more people started to crowd around you.

She heard sirens starting to wail before the ambulance came into her view. The paramedics rushed over to you and started to assess you as Taylor tried to keep Olivia in her arms as she screamed and cried out for you.

She could feel her tears hitting her neck. Taylor did her best to soothe her, but she knew it was nowhere near what she needed. Olivia needed you. Taylor needed you.

They rode in the back of the ambulance to the hospital with you and Olivia insisted on trying to hold your hand the entire way.

The wait in the hospital was agonizing. Taylor sat down on what must've been the most uncomfortable chair she's ever sat in, for hours at a time. Olivia laid with her head resting on her chest, right over her heart, the sound bringing comfort to the little girl that truly needed that more than anything else at that moment.

They both, somehow, fell asleep there. Taylor woke up to someone shaking her shoulder and upon opening her eyes, she saw a nurse in front of her. "Taylor?" Taylor nodded her head, her anxious brain starting to run. "Your wife is gonna be just fine." Taylor let out a breath of relief. She felt the nurse rub her shoulder comfortingly as a tear fell from her eye.

"She's got a couple of broken ribs, a fracture in her knee, and she's got a broken wrist. But she'll be okay." Taylor let out a breathy chuckle and held onto Olivia, who was still sleeping against her chest. "Can we see her?"

The nurse nodded her head and Taylor wiped the tears from her cheeks. "Olivia, honey, wake up." She watched her blue eyes that mirrored her own open wide. "Wanna go see mommy?" Olivia was quick to nod her head as she smiled as big as she could. Taylor returned the smile and leaned down to kiss her head before she stood up and followed the nurse down the long hallway.

The door opened and Olivia was trying to get out of Taylor's arms as soon as they saw you lying awake on the bed. Taylor put her on the ground and she ran right over to you. She tried to get up onto the bed but she couldn't seem to find a way to do it on her own.

Taylor walked over and helped her up and her arms were around you right away. "Be careful, honey." She whispered to Olivia when she heard you wince. Taylor had tears in her eyes as she knelt on the floor in front of the hospital bed.

You felt her hand grab yours and watched as tears fell from her eyes. "Tay?" She looked back up at and sniffled. She brought your hand up to her lips and pressed a few kisses to your hand. "I'm so happy you're okay. I don't know what we'd ever do without you."

Her bottom lip was trembling and her hands were shaking but she swore that she'd never felt more relieved or more grateful in her life than at that moment. She leaned up and cupped your chin so she could bring you in for a kiss. She moved her lips softly against your own, your tears mixing together as she brushed her thumb over your slightly bruised cheek.

You only pulled away when Olivia snuggled up close to you. She buried her face in your hospital gown, her tears falling and soaking it. "Olivia, sweetie. It's okay, I'm okay. I'm right here. It's okay." Yout ook her cheeks into your hands and leaned down to kiss her forehead. "Love you, mommy." She sniffled as she held onto you tight.

You looked down at Taylor and patted the other side of your hospital bed. "Come snuggle with us?" Taylor smiled and climbed in behind you. She was careful not to touch your ribs, knowing they had to really hurt. She was extra careful and she made sure that Olivia was being careful, too.

"You saved us..." She mumbled against your neck. You craned your neck and stared into her beautiful eyes. "I told you that I'll always do anything for you. For our family. The car was coming right for you and Olivia, I had no choice. I'd never let anything happen to my girls."

Taylor buried her face in your neck and pressed her lips against your skin. "I love you so much. I know I've told you this a thousand times before, but I think you're so strong and so brave. You're truly the most amazing woman. What'd I ever do to deserve you?"

She kissed your lips again and smiled against them. She's always felt so lucky to have you, to be able to get to love you every day of her life. But she's never felt luckier than she did at that moment.

You laid your head on her shoulder and looked down at Olivia who was sound asleep against your chest. You closed your eyes as Taylor started to sing to you in the hospital bed that was nowhere near comfortable, barely big enough for one person, let alone three. But it was worth it.

There's nowhere Taylor would rather be than cuddled close to her favorite girls, especially during a time like this. She wasn't ever gonna let anything hurt you again.
