you wake up and she's not next to you

A chill ran down your spine as you stirred from your peaceful sleep.

You felt around blindly for Taylor only to come in contact with warm but empty sheets. You sat up and rubbed the sleep from your eyes to look around the dark room for her, but you didn't see her.

The bathroom light was off signaling she wasn't in there. So, you groggily gout of bed and went to look for her. You made your way down the stairs and looked for her in the living room first and then the kitchen, but she wasn't in either room.

You started to panic a little. You know Taylor wouldn't just up and leave in the middle of the night but you couldn't find her and your mind always tends to jump to worst-case scenario. You went back upstairs, about to check if she had made it back to the bedroom while you were looking for her downstairs when the sound of a piano playing caught your attention.

You followed the sound to Taylor's music room. You sighed when you saw her on the bench, her fingers gently pressing down on the keys as she scribbled on her notebook. You cleared your throat and she turned her head, a smile on her face when she saw you.

"What are you doing up?" She asked as she put her pen down and you walked towards her. "I should be asking you that," you sat next to her and put your head down on her chest. "I woke up and you weren't next to me so I had to come find you and make sure you were okay."

Taylor smiled and started to rub your back. "I'm okay. Just couldn't sleep so I figured I'd write." You looked up at her lovingly. "How's it coming along?" She yawned and stretched her arms. "Really good. But I think I'm done for the night. Ready to go back to sleep?"

She closed the piano and you both walked back to the bedroom. You laid back down and felt her curl up close behind you, her arm wrapping around you while her head rested on your back. "I love you so much y/n." You heard her whisper followed by her pressing a kiss to your head.

"I love you too Taylor," you whispered back as your eyes closed and you fell back asleep, finally back in her embrace.
