Walking up behind Taylor as she poured herself a glass of water, you wrapped your arms around her and let your cheek fall to her shoulder.
The lingering thought that has swirled around in your head since you arrived with Taylor just an hour ago returned once more. You couldn't help but wonder if your family gathered everywhere around you could see how truly happy she makes you; judging by the smile on your face alone.
"Having a good time?" You asked. You just wanted to be sure, because you know she had been a little nervous about attending the family gathering your aunt and uncle were hosting. But she was smiling and giggling, and you knew that was a good sign.
"Yeah. I'm having a wonderful time actually." She smiled at you as she turned around and hooked her fingers under your chin to bring you in for a kiss. But before your lips could touch, there was a familiar voice coming from behind you.
"Y/N?"
You turned to see another one of your uncles standing there. It's been years since you saw him last, so it was only natural that you felt excited to see him again.
"My my my, you have really grown up." He said, embracing you in a hug that was long overdue.
You pulled away and proudly took ahold of Taylor's hand. "It's so nice to see you again! This is my wife, Taylor!"
It was too late to take it back; the words had already fallen from your lips for them both to hear. You bit your lip nervously, unsure of how Taylor would react. But you should've known that she'd just smile and hug your uncle. She wasn't concerned about correcting you. Perhaps she liked the introduction you gave her.
"It's so nice to finally meet you! Y/n has talked about you before." She said, smiling.
"The feeling is definitely mutual, Taylor. I know exactly who you are, however, I didn't know you two got married."
You went to respond, actually planning on correcting yourself, but Taylor cut you off.
"Actually, we aren't. But... who knows. Maybe we will be soon. It's in the cards for sure." She said and you could see that smirk on her face, knowing that you were looking at her with your big, wide eyes, and a racing heart.
"I better get an invite!" Your uncle laughed before looking toward the dining room area, seeing a few other family members he hadn't seen in too long. "Hey, I gotta go. There's a lot of people I gotta see. But I will catch up with you soon!"
Taylor nodded and you both watched him walk away.
Taylor casually sipped on her water as she saw your shocked expression. "What?"
You looked down, a smile forming on your face that was near impossible to hide. You took the glass from her hand and set it onto the counter nearby. You then wrapped your arms around her neck and gently brushed your lips over hers. "It's in the cards, huh?"
"Hell yeah. Don't act all surprised. I told you, it's just a matter of time. For all you know, I could get down on one knee at any moment."
Your eyes widened and she just laughed before capturing your lips with her own.
You knew, when you heard family members cooing from around you as you and Taylor stood there, lost in your own little world and perfect kiss, that your happiness was very obvious.
But you knew she was up to something and you couldn't wait to find out what it was.
