As the rain poured, creating a soft pitter-patter on the roof, you and Taylor were safe and warm inside.

You were both laying on your stomachs over the fluffy white throw blanket that Taylor had placed on the floor. A glass of wine near you both, you laughed and stole a few kisses as you played monopoly. It was a tense game, but you've both been really level-headed about everything so far, finding more fun in spending time together than letting it get to your head.

But, that changed when you, for the third time, landed on free parking. Taylor groaned as she looked at her stash of money that was running low, having landed on almost every one of your properties more than once. She rolled her eyes while you just laughed.

"Hey. You're good at singing, whereas I'm good at this game." You giggled when you saw her roll her beautiful blue eyes.

"Or you're cheating." She muttered as she sipped on her wine.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me. This is the third time, look at how much more you have than I do!"

You scoffed at her. You wondered if she was just messing around or if she was being serious. You didn't know. You couldn't really tell. She had never acted like this before.

"Okay. Don't be a sore loser."

"Wow, that's real mature of you, y/n." She folded her arms over her chest.

Sitting up, you looked at her, feeling confused. "Babe, it's just a game! Why are you acting like this? Look, it's not even over yet, we still have time to go! We can still turn things around."

She shook her head and sat up. "What's the point?" She asked as she sat up, only to refill her glass and take a breather. However, she knocked the pieces over as she got up, although accidentally. But after the things that had been said, you didn't think that.

"What the hell, Taylor? You can't handle losing so you knock it over?!"

"Oh, relax, it's not like I did it on purpose!"

This time, you were the one to roll your eyes.

"Okay. You know what? This is stupid. The game, this argument. We'll just clean it up."

In the midst of her frustration, as she bent down to grab the board to throw into the box, she had accidentally hit you with the board by accident.

You squeaked at the pain and cupped your cheek and upon hearing the little squeak all of her anger faded away.

"Shit, baby. You okay?" She took your hand gently and cuped your cheek. "I know how it looks but i swear that it was only accidental. I'd never hurt you like that on purpose, no matter how angry or frustrated I could be." She brushed her hand over the spot on your cheek. "But why would you believe me? Look at how I acted. I was so stupid, so immature."

You chuckled and laid your hand over hers. "It's okay, Tay. I know you didn't mean to. I know you and I know you'd never hurt me on purpose."

You watched her shoulders drop, as though all of her worries faded away just from your reassuring words alone.

You both were quiet for a moment until you stared into each other's eyes then burst out laughing. "We really let that game get to our heads, didn't we?"

"Excuse me? We?" You teased, poking her shoulder playfully. "You were the sore loser. Accusing me of cheating and wanting to call it quits when the game still had time to be turned around."

She shook her head with a laugh. Judging by the smile on her face and the one on yours, you both knew everything was alright.

"I'm sorry I let it get to me. I really don't know what came over me."

You captured her lips with yours, bringing her in for a soft kiss.

"It's all okay now." You moved into her arms, laying your cheek against her shoulder as she held you close and gave you little kisses to the crown of your head.

After a few minutes of comfortable silence, you broke it with a silly suggestion.

"Maybe we should just play candy land or something instead."

Taylor threw her head back with a laugh. Your sense of humor just made her fall even more in love with you.
