Reader's POV

I looked around the ballroom, taking a deep breath.
"C'mon, Y/n! This is going to be the best night ever," Emma, my older sister exclaimed.
"Are you sure..?" I muttered.
Gilda giggled and leaned over, she was my younger sister, "I heard the most handsome men are coming by! Papa said we might find something to get betrothed to!"

"Yeah," I said, glancing around anxiously.
Living in Manhattan was great, being the daughter of a famous man was... okay. 

"Oh! Y/n, I heard Ray and Norman were also coming," Emma then told me.
I felt my heart skip a beat, and Emma smirked.
"Whatever..." I muttered.

"Don't act like you don't care!" she chuckled before the spotlight was on us.
"Now! The (random last name aka Shuyler) Sisters!" a man announced as we walked down  the stairs calmly.

"This is weird," I muttered to Emma.
She chuckled, "Loosen up."

"Easy for you to say. You're the pretty one," I muttered before separating from her and Gilda to the food.

Time Skip

I didn't know why. But as soon as I saw Ray. I grew extremely flustered.
Gilda and Emma were right, he definitely had the looks.

And his deep black eyes...
His deep voice.

Helpless!

I chuckled as Emma winked at me from the dance floor, greeting another man.

I stayed near the tables, not necessarily talking to anyone.

Looking at Ray. What can I say? He's handsome.

I jumped as Emma came up beside me.
"How's it going all alone over here? Anyone catch your eye?" she asked teasingly.
I blushed slightly, but her eyes met where I was looking.

Grind to the rhythm as we wine and dine

Whisper, "Yo, this
One's mine."

"Yeah, Ray, actually," I smiled, then turned to her.
"This one's mine," I said. She chuckled before she left my side.

"Huh? Em, where are you going..."  I muttered.

My sister made her way across the room to you
And I got nervous, thinking "What's she gonna do?"
She grabbed you by the arm, I'm thinkin' "I'm through"
Then you look back at me and suddenly I'm
Helpless!

Emma walked over to Ray.

What's she gonna do...
