Reader's POV

I sat by Zack, watching as he and Sandy took care of Chris.

"How's Chris doing?"
I asked softly.

"He's fine. We can't let our guard down, but his pulse and breathing have stablized.
The medicine worked."
Sandy told us.

I let a sigh of relief.
"Good..."
I smiled, putting my hand on Chris' forehead.

A small smile tinted his face, but it quickly went back to normal.

I smiled, and Sandy nudged my shoulder.
"He'll be okay,"
he said with a bright smile.

"I know... thank you, Sandy,"
I smiled.

He only smiled back in response.

A blanket was wrapped around  my shoulders and I looked up to see Nigel.
"Oh, thanks, Nigel,"
I smiled.

"No problem. It's getting cold,"
he told me.

"You don't like the cold, Nigel?"
I asked, but it was more of a statement.

He nodded.
"Well, I'm sensitive to it."

"Same difference,"
I offered.

He chuckled.
"You should get some rest,"
he then told me.

"You should too,"
I replied.

"We'll spend the night here. Everyone, make sure you rest up.
We'll leave first thing tomorrow morning,"
Emma then said.

I nodded but turned back to Chris.
"You can't stay up watching him the whole night,"
Nigel chuckled.

"I know. I'll watch him until I fall asleep,"
I smiled.

"We can take turns."
Sandy offered.

I nodded with excitement.
Zack took the first watch so Nigel, Sandy, and I went to sleep.

I woke up to Nigel shaking me gently.
"Huh?"
I asked softly.

I had fallen asleep on his shoulder, but now I woke up in his arms, snuggled against his chest.
"It's your turn,"
he said with a smile.

"Oh, cool. Thanks,"
I said, giving him a smile.

We stayed silent for a second.
"Oh, uhm, do you want me to move?"
I asked.

"Oh, no you're okay.
Sandy told me he moved us like this because you were about to fall asleep on a rock,"
he said with a chuckle.

I looked over to where I used to be.
Yup, there was a pretty big rock there. And it definitely didn't look comfortable.

I chuckled.
"I'll have to thank him then. You get some rest, Nigel,"
I told him.

He nodded slightly before his head rested on my head.
It didn't take long before he was asleep.

I watched over Chris after that.
Until I got tired, unluckily, I got tired as soon as the sun had started to come up.
