"Where to now?"

"What do you mean?"

"You said you were taking me somewhere..."

"I am!"

Small thuds echoed through the forest as their shoes pressed on the ground.

It was warm and damp.

He held onto the other's hand and led the boy through the maze of trees; jumping over roots and dodging branches that hung from above.

Few of the sun's rays shone through small gaps from the roof, and barely made its way to the floor. Poor plants needed their nourishment.

Other than the sounds of birds chirping, their boisterous laughter spread throughout the entire area, leaving no time of silence to the peaceful place.

They kept running.

Running hand in hand.

Neither of them dared to let the other go.

Their faces lit up with bright smiles. Their hearts beat as one. As cliche as everything felt, neither of them cared.
Everything felt right.

Everything was right.

Everything was going right...

"Tord-"

A cracking sound was heard.

"Tord-!"

Everything felt hot; hotter than before.

"Tom, stay close-" He pulled him closer, holding onto him dearly.

Everything turned dark and gray. The Forest began to collapse in front of their eyes.
Brown barks shifted to black.
Branches fell down in pieces.

The other coughed slightly. The air felt tight..

They ran hand in hand.
Not one being left behind.

Together they dodged the falling debris,
together they passed the burning branches,
together they jumped over hot fire...

... But alone he stood outside the forest.

The smoke spread into the city.

Nothing could be done.

He stood there with his half-burnt red jacket.

"Thomas.."
