Bardock x Child! reader

Y/N's POV

" Hyaah!" I said. I threw a punch at my opponent. I'm only six and I'm fighting teenagers. " Damn. He/She is good. But I'm not backing down." My opponent said. I fired an energy blast and knocked them out. " Y/N wins!" The coach said. My opponent got up and walked away. I walked out too.

I decided to explore more of this facility. I wanted to see what the adults were doing. I can't wait until I fight one. I peered into their training ground. Two adults were in a battle. One seemed pretty strong. He knocked his opponent to the ground in one blow.

" Winner, Bardock." The referee said. " Tch. Whatever." the man named Bardock said. He began walking my way. We met each others eyes. He scoffed at me and walked away. I followed at a far distance. We walked a while. But then he stopped and fired an energy blast at me. I dodged. But barely.

" Why the hell are you following me?! Just leave me alone." He said. He walked away. I decided to follow without me noticing him. I have no home to go to anyways. My parents died in battle. But I'm fine on my own. I followed Bardock to his house. It was already night.

He was having dinner with his wife and son. " Must be nice to have a family dinner." I said. I walked up to the little cave that I was living in. I didn't have any dinner. I fell asleep on an empty stomach. I woke up at the crack of dawn.

I decided to steal some food. " Hey! Come back here you little thief!" The shop owner said. I was holding some meat in my hands. I was far ahead. But then I bumped into me. I looked up to see Bardock. " Stop you little thief!" The shop owner said. Bardock took the meat and gave it back to the shop owner.

" Here." He said. The shop owner took the meat and went back. Bardock took me into an ally. " Why the hell would you do that?!" He said. " Because I went without food for three days. I don't have a family. My parents died in battle. I've been on my own for a year now. I have to go to training. Bye." I said. I ran off.

I went off to training. But I lost all of my matches since I wasn't at full strength. Afterwards, it started raining. I was cold and wet. How I wished I had a home to go to. The cave would be colder, so I went to a nearby tree. I climbed up and sat on a branch. I actually ended up falling asleep.

Flashback

" Y/N? Where did you go?" My mother said. " I'm right here. I was getting a plate for my apples." I replied. " Why do you need apples?" She asked me. " I wanted to surprise you with some apple pie. You're going off to fight some bad guys tomorrow. I wanted to make a going away gift." I said. I smiled. " You know, for a two year old, you're very mature." My mother said.

" I'm home." My father said as he arrived. " Welcome back. How was training?" My mother asked. " Incredible. We're going to take that planet for sure. What are you two doing?" My father asked us. " I'm going to help Y/N make a pie." My mother said. " I'll help too. Let me get the pie crust." My father said. I smiled.

Time skip...

The warriors arrived back home. I was sprinting to the site. " I'm finally going to see mommy and daddy again." I thought. There was a large group gathered. " Mother!? Father!?" I yelled. I wanted to give them a big hug. But I didn't see them. I went up to some soldiers. " Excuse me? Where are M/N and F/N?" I asked them. " You're their kid?" One asked. I nodded. " I'm sorry. They perished in battle." The soldier said.

Time skip...

" I'm not taking him/her!" My grandmother said. " He/She will just be a burden!" My uncle said. No one wanted to take me in. So I ran away. I went up into the mountains. I found a cave and decided to make it my new home. " Mother. Father. I miss you so much." I said.

End of flashback

I woke up to the smell of meat. I looked around. " I must've fallen asleep." I thought. I followed the scent to a house. When I looked inside the window, I noticed I was at Bardock's house. He was having dinner. He peered over to the window. I ducked down. " Did you see something?" A woman asked. " No." He said. I stayed under the window for a while. After a bit, I decided to leave.

But I noticed something on the window. There was a plate of cooked meat and a glass of water on the edge. A note was attached to it.

For the first time in a while, I had a family. I decided to go inside. I wanted to see my new family.
