This is a 'Modern Love Story' fanfiction based on Eternal Love of Dream drama series/Ten Miles Pillow Book Novel written by Tang Qi Gong Zi. The storyline would be similar to most parts of their original novel/drama but given with a modern twist.

I do know that the novel started out with very short chapters (800-1k words), as this is my first time writing. But I still hope that you'll give it a chance and continue reading. I promise you that it would slowly get better and it would also have longer chapters (4-6k words) too!

This story will definitely have a good ending and it will loosely follow ELOD's original plotline with a lot of added sweet and funny scenes. The story is mainly light-hearted but with some drama. The main leads portrayed here would be innocent and naive, so it's not suitable for people who prefer mature-themed stories. Love progression between them would be slow paced as well.

The gossip duo (Lian Song and Si Ming) would also play a big part in this story, along with their own side stories.

It will be a long novel, estimating more than 100 chapters.

Synopsis:

Dong Hua saved Feng Jiu's life when she met him for the first time. She was determined to repay his kindness. She gradually fell in love with Dong Hua, a person who is indifferent to everyone and everything and doesn't understand the meaning of love, in the process of repaying her gratitude. Feng Jiu loves Dong Hua but he doesn't know about her feelings and what she did for him. When Feng Jiu finally decided to move on, Dong Hua starts to notices her. He thought she was interesting at first but he comes to realize that he has unknowingly fallen deeply in love with her.

But was it too late?

Flashback to Ancient times, Dong Hua Di Jun summoned the Elderly Fairy guarding the Stone of Destiny to inquire about his fate with Feng Jiu. The Elderly Fairy said that they have no fate. To go against fate, it will be a hard journey with hurdles and obstacles. However, the Elderly Fairy said that Destiny could change anytime.

Dong Hua and Feng Jiu lived so many lifetimes without being able to be together. Would they finally be together this lifetime?

Main Characters:

Feng Jiu

22 years old.

Final year student in Qing University. Feng Jiu has a childish personality that she only reveals to those close to her. She is the only child and grew up with love from everyone around her. Very loyal to friends. She tries her best to protect those she cared about, despite hurting herself in the process. She has a big heart and is kind to everyone she meets.

Past Life: The youngest ruler of one of Qing Qiu's territories, Feng Jiu is the only known nine-tailed red fox in the world.

Dong Hua

28 years old.

President of Tai Chen Group (China's biggest Multinational Corporation). Dong Hua grew up being an orphan so he is very cold towards everyone. He thinks that being aloof and detached is the only way to protect himself. He has trust issues, mainly due to his bad childhood past. Deep inside, he longed for someone to love him and would be there for him no matter what happens.

Past Life: Known as Di Jun, a title held only by a few highly known and revered ancient deities in the novel universe, Dong Hua was the first emperor of the Heaven Clan, the man who united the world.

Supporting characters:

Cha Cha - Feng Jiu's Best friend No.1, harbors a crush on Ye Qingti.

Cheng Yu - Feng Jiu's Best friend No.2, Lian Song's love interest.

Lian Song - Dong Hua's close friend, harbors a crush on Cheng Yu. Executive Manager in Tai Chen Group.

Chong Lin - Dong Hua's Assistant and right-hand man.

Si Ming - Good friend of both Feng Jiu and Dong Hua.
(Eventually became Executive Manager in Tai Chen Group too.)

Miao Luo - CEO of Mo Jie International, Rival company of Tai Chen Group.

Nie Chuyin - Miao Luo's side-kick.

Ji Heng - Feng Jiu's love rival, one-sided love for Dong Hua.

Yan Chiwu - Feng Jiu's good friend and colleague, one-sided love for Ji Heng.

Ye Qingti - Feng Jiu's classmate, harbors a crush on Feng Jiu.

Jie Lu - Feng Jiu's colleague, good friends with Yan Chiwu.

Xiangli Meng - Feng Jiu's colleague, Jie Lu's cousin. Harbors a crush on Feng Jiu.

Zhi He/Min Su - Ji Heng's Assistant.

Yu Xi - Original Character, Si Ming's love interest.

Cang Yi - Guest role, one of Feng Jiu's suitors.

Su Moye - President of West Sea Group. Feng Jiu's good friend.
