29. Staying Strong

"You're up so early?!"

Cheng Yu was surprised to see Feng Jiu eating her breakfast when she walked into her ward.

"Yes! I need to eat more and recover as soon as possible. I'll be visiting Qingti after breakfast, do you want to come with me?"

"Sure, Feng Jiu. Just tell me where you want to go, and I'll gladly accompany you. I'm glad to see that you're feeling better."

"Qingti gave me a strong motivation to keep moving forward. If something bad happened to me, who would take care of him?"

"I'm glad that you think that way, Feng Jiu."

Then she quickly finished her breakfast before leaving her ward to visit Ye Qingti.

"Can you hear me, Qingti? If you can hear me talking, you need to recover and wake up quickly. I'll be here for you." Feng Jiu held on tightly to Ye Qingti's hands while talking to him.

The doctor told Feng Jiu that she should continuously visit Ye Qingti and also talk to him, as it might be beneficial to him.

"Feng Jiu, you're so strong." Cheng Yu looked at Feng Jiu, who was clearly looking better as compared to yesterday.

"I have to remind myself to stay strong for Qingti constantly. It's the only thing that keeps me going for now."

"I'll be here for you, no matter what happens." Cheng Yu reassured Feng Jiu.

"Thanks, Cheng Yu. I'm blessed to have friends like you." Feng Jiu smiled sweetly at Cheng Yu.

"I want to visit Dong Hua. This could be my last time seeing him..." Feng Jiu said to Cheng Yu, after leaving Ye Qingti's ward.

"Do it, Feng Jiu. So that you won't have any regrets." Cheng Yu then pushed her towards Dong Hua's ward.

Once they were outside the ward, they noticed Dong Hua and Ji Heng together again, and Ji Heng was attending to Dong Hua's every need. Feng Jiu then quickly told Cheng Yu to hide and watch them from afar.

It looked like they were about to leave the hospital, as Dong Hua was dressed in a formal suit.

"He looks really different now... The Dong Hua that I know, he's gone forever. Let's go, Cheng Yu. I've seen enough. It's time for me to let go. He belonged to Ji Heng from the start anyway. It's my fault for wanting to spend more time with Dong Hua, and that caused Qingti to get into a coma."

Feng Jiu then gave Dong Hua one last look and left. Tears were starting to flow down from her eyes, as it pains her to see Dong Hua and Ji Heng together. Feeling hopeless, she knew that she could only move on.

For the next couple of days, Feng Jiu had been visiting Ye Qingti a lot. She stayed by his side and always talked to him about everything, including the times that they spent together back in school.

Feng Jiu tried to numb herself from feeling the pain of losing Dong Hua. She kept herself busy to distract herself from thinking about it as well.

After almost a week of staying in the hospital, Feng Jiu was finally discharged from the hospital. Her leg wasn't fully recovered yet, and she still needed crutches to help her move around.
