"Cause if I want you, and I want you, babe
Ain't going backwards, won't ask for space
'Cause space is just a word made up by someone who's afraid to get too
Close, oh
Oh, so close, oh
I want you close, ooh
'Cause space is just a word made up by someone who's afraid to get close, oh
Oh, so close, oh
I want you close, ooh
Oh, I want you close, and close ain't close enough, no"

Stepping into the humid outdoors, I spotted Jace with a book, surrounded by cats that wanted his attention. A little ginger and white one nudged his arm, meowing for attention. The blonde looked annoyed, trying to scribble away something in a book.
"Magnus!" He yelled annoyed, clearly not seeing me there.
"Not a cat lover?" I teased, picking up the little ginger tabby.
"Not an animal lover full stop" he grunted.
"Don't listen to the mean shadowhunter. He's just in a mood" I cooed as Magnus stepped outside.
"Aw! Salut, mon petits chats," Magnus chimed in french, "you're new aren't you?" He asked, meaning the ginger in my arms.
The cat jumped out of my arms, escaping when Magnus magicked bowls of milk on the floor.
"Think someone would notice if I took one to the institute?" I asked.
"I think one or two would. Aww, I can't help but spoilt them. It's the only way I can win them over" Magnus carried on, glancing at the cats lovingly.

"Ask her if you want to know how to win someone over" Jace said, not looking up.
I frowned slightly, rolling my eyes.
"You mean Alec?" Magnus asked as I sat beside Jace.
Just because he was in a mood he had to take it out on everyone else, I was just in his path today.
"Look, I've been there. I know it's a whirlwind fling that burns so hot all it can do is flame out" Jace commented.
"That's what you think this is? A fling? Jace, come on-" I started as he looked up, meeting my eyes.
"It's not that. It's just...Alec's sensitive. And you're like my sister but he's my parabatai. After everything that happened a few years ago, I just don't want him hurt again" Jace explained, amending his earlier statement.
Magnus sat opposite us, looking at me with raised eyebrows. I shook my head slightly, telling him not to mention why I left. Truth be told, Magnus was the first person I mentioned the real reason to, apart from my brothers. I didn't want everyone knowing until Alec did, even Izzy didn't know.

"I get that Jace, but I do love him" I told Jace, turning my body towards him.
"Okay. I trust you, Selena" Jace said, a warm, small smile covering his face.
"Do you really think I'd get on Maryse Lightwood's bad side for nothing?" I questioned teasingly, looking at Magnus.
"Hey, open bar don't worry" the warlock replied with a grin.
"Great, I can drink the judgment away" I cheered as the pair laughed.

"Everything looks perfect, you look perfect" Alec whispered after he walked in, kissing my cheek quickly.
Myself and Magnus had spent all day planning the party. Spanish themed, along with angelic, since Robert proposed to Maryse in Barcelona. Afterwards, he magicked up a black play suit that had been in my wardrobe to over here.
"Not too bad yourself" I replied as Maryse and Max walked over, Magnus joining our sides.
"Max, mother" Alec greeted softly.
"I heard you like to drink" Maryse says, giving Magnus a bottled alcohol.
"Welcome Maryse," Magnus said with a chuckle as he clutched the alcohol, "Max this is your night"
