Whiskey lullaby- Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss

"You'll sing 'Whiskey lullaby' for the audition," Rohan says when we arrive  at the music hall during the recess.

He finally decided to show his face after a very long time, and we're very happy at his arrival, although he doesn't look very good.

His sunken eyes are surrounded with darker shades of grey and his slightly pointed nose is now the only highlight of his face. His messy hair is covering the half of his forehead, forming a rough fringe.

He looks extremely weak and the black school uniform is hanging on his lanky figure as if it belongs to someone else. His appearance is no less than a ghost from a creepy movie which makes me wonder how he's still managing to drag himself to school.

Except for his lips, every other part of him is screaming for help and the fact that how much I'm familiar with his condition horrifies my soul.

"I love that song." Bianca chimes.

He lets out a forced smile and sits down to play the lead on a hollow guitar. I join him with another.

🎼She put him out, like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette
She broke his heart, he spent his whole life tryin' to forget
We watched him drink his pain away a little at a time
But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind
Until the night

He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life is short, but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees
We found him with his face down in the pillow
With a note that said, "I'll love her 'til I die"
And when we buried him beneath the willow
The angels sang a whiskey lullaby

La, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la

The rumors flew, but nobody knew how much she blamed herself
For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath
She finally drank her pain away a little at a time
But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind
Until the night

She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away his memory
Life is short, but this time it was bigger
Than the strength she had to get up off her knees
We found her with her face down in the pillow
Clinging to his picture for dear life
We laid her next to him beneath the willow
While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby

La, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la

The last rehearsals for Monday auditions are about to begin and the entire school is running into chaos with excitement.

They seem to take this concert very seriously, as it is said to be more of a fundraiser than just a mere school event. The reason behind it is supposed to be a helping hand to build proper schools in underprivileged areas but I highly doubt that.

I don't know if they are just showing off for the better advertisement of the school or if they are sincerely doing it for the good cause.

It's hard to trust anyone. After all, corruption is almost everywhere. I just hope they aren't using us to pile their homes with more luxury.
