Chapter 26: Fear

Third Person POV 

It's been a few days since Blake confessed. Confessed her feelings towards Y/N. The former member of Salem's group. The one who called mother. The one who took hi in. Now working against her. 

Right now, Y/N was walking through the courtyard as he thought of it. Blake's confession. 

Y/N: Does she? Does she really love me? 
He said to himself as he walked along the school yard. 

Y/N: Or is she just going to betray me like the others. 
He said to himself as the memories flashed at him. 

Seeing Cinder, Emerald, and Neo kiss Mercury. Topless. Cinder on top of his lap while Emerald knelt behind her, her hands on her breasts while Neo kissed Mercury. 

Y/N shakes his head as he clenches his fists in anger as he continued to walk. 

???: Hey Y/N! 

Y/N slowly turned around as he sees Yang running towards him. 

Yang: Where were you!? 
She said with hints of anger. 

Y/N: Looking for white fang members. Why? 

Yang: Huh...

Y/N: Why do you ask? 

Yang: Just thought you'll be with Blake since the white fang did a number on her. 
She said as she looked at him. 

Y/N: Hmm. 
He said as he looked away. 

Yang: Are you just going to leave her like that? Just like that? 

Y/N looked at her with a blank expression as Yang grit her teeth at him. 

SMACK 

Suddenly Yang smacked Y/N, leaving a red mark as she looked at him. 

Yang: W-Why? Why don't you show her that you care about her. 
She said with anger. 

Yang: She loves you Y/N. I can see it in your eyes. 
She said with anger. 

Yang: Why don't you do the same for her. Why don't you just confess to her. 

Y/N: I-I-I....
He struggled to speak as the memories flashed at him. 

Seeing Cinder, Emerald, and Neo looking at him with a smile. Seeing how they held his arms and their heads on his shoulder. Before seeing Cinder and Emerald look at him disappointingly during the amber attack. Before seeing the with Mercury. 

Yang: Answer me Y/N. 
She demands. 

Y/N turned around as he flew away, leaving Yang there as she looked at him angrily. 

Yang: Y/N! 
She yelled as he flew away before seeing a photo land on the ground. 

Yang: Who are these girls? 
She asked as she sees Cinder, Emerald, and Neo on the photo. 

To Y/N 

Y/N landed in the Emerald Forest before punching into a tree out of anger. Breathing heavily, he slowly reeled his fist back as he clenched his fists in anger. 

Y/N: Why do I look at her like I did with them. 
He growls in anger as he clenched fists, feeling his heart hurting. 

???: Hey there kid. 

Y/N turned around to see Dante once more as he glared at him. 

Y/N: Dante. 
He growls. 

Dante: Oh wow. You know my name. Surprised to see you remember my name. 
He chuckles as he looks at him. 

Y/N: What are you doing here. 
He growls. 

Dante: Oh just came to check up on you. How the cat girl? 
He asked as he looks at him, seeing his fist clenched tighter. 

Dante: What's wrong? Just asking if she is okay. 

PUNCH 

Dante staggered back as he looked at Y/N with shock. 

Dante: Whoa there buddy. Calm down. 
He said as he looked at him. 

Y/N doesn't answer as he charged at him with Red Queen. 

CLANG 

Dante and Y/N clashed against each other as the two looked at each other. 

Dante: Whoa kid. 
He said as he held him back. 

Y/N only growls louder as he pushed him back before hearing a growl come from the side. The two backed up as a beowolf lunged at them from behind. 

SLASH 

Y/N slashed through the beowolf before charging at Dante. 

Dante: Hmm. Fear. Sadness. Anger. Any negative emotion and its dinner. 
He said as Y/N raised his sword at him. 

CLANG 

Dante blocked the slash before pulling out his handguns. 

BANG

BANG 

BANG 

Dante shot at hi multiple times as Y/N gasped in pain, feeling his aura shatter. 

Y/N fell to his knees as he gasps heavily as he glares at Dante. 

Dante: Fear. I can see it in your eyes. 
He said as he fell to the ground in front of him. 

Dante: Afraid of the girls betraying you again. Your trust. Your heart. 

Y/N: I don't know what the hell you're talking about. 
He growls. 

Dante: Really? Vergil says otherwise. 

Y/N: Who the fuck is Vergil. 

Dante: Well kid. It's best to move on from the past. You've already killed two of them. 

Y/N growls at him as Dante stood there with a blank expression. 

Dante: If you kill the remaining two, then what? Hold onto the past and die alone? Is that the life you really want? 

Y/N sighs as he looks down. 

Dante: You're afraid of them doing the same huh. Just go to her nephew. 
He said before walking away. 

Y/N: Nephew? I don't know. 

Dante: That is a story for another time Y/N. 
He said before walking away, leaving Y/N there as he thought to himself. 

Y/N: I suppose he's right. 

To Salem 

Salem: That's it. It's over. 
She said, looking at Emerald and Mercury with baggy eyes while they looked at her in shock. 

Emerald: That's it? It's over? We're not going with it anymore? 

Salem: The white fang in Vale are gone. Cinder is dead. Roman and his henchmen are dead. There is nothing else we can do. Adam is nowhere to be found. 
She said sadly, her mind slowly floating back to someone else. 

Mercury got up and walked out of the room as Emerald followed. 

Emerald: Mercury. Where are you going? 
She asked as she followed him. 

Emerald: Mercury. 
She said as she placed her hand on his shoulder. 

Mercury: I'm going to Vale. 

Emerald: Why? 

Mercury: I'm going to kill him. For taking them away.
