Rachel's Thoughts

Boy's Thoughts and telepathic dialogue

"dialogue between characters"

Rachel POV

A few days have passed since Dean bought the house and I am overwhelmed with everything going on. We are moving in in four days. The boys' servants and staff are arriving in two and I have been coordinating with Gianna to get the décor right for the house.

As we drive to the house the boys are relaxing in the car. I hear the ringing of my phone and see that it is Gianna. Ughhhh she is driving me nuts! I put it on the hands free call and link the boys to be quiet.

"Gianna, what's up?" I asks.

"Hi, so I found tables that match what you wanted for the formal dining room. They are from a custom designer and they are only $20,000 each for the long two and $15,000 for the head table. How great is that?"

Is she insane, how is that a great thing? 20k for a table?

"Gianna, I don't think that's a great price for what we need." I explain keeping my frustration in check.

"Rachel, I know the price tag is a bit of a shocker but to have two tables set 30 people each it is going be that expensive." She reasons to me.

"Well, I actually have another solution. I called a few carpenters and I get a couple estimates. The one I will being going with can custom build the tables for us for 5k total, material and labor included. I also have them building all of the other furniture we talked about for an addition 10k. So, don't worry about any of that. They will have it built and delivered on move in day. I'll email the details so you can set up the delivery information. How does that sound?" I ask sweetly.

"Umm, that's fine, if that's what you want to do. I know this seems like a lot of money, but you need to spend money to decorate your new house. It's a 10-million-dollar house that should be filled with the best of the best which is why your fiancé hired me. Your important guests aren't going to enjoy rinky dink made tables." She informs me trying to obviously show how I'm stupid for my plan.

"Funny thing Gianna, Dean hired you and if I remember the brief correctly it says we can spend whatever we need to, to make me happy. I told you want would make me happy, unlike your million-dollar proposal, was to only spend a quarter of that. So, I took matters into my own hands and instead of going over my budget, I found cost effective ways to still get the desired effect with out sacrificing quality. I also gave business to several local businesses like yours instead of these big companies you are trying to give Dean's money. So, if my calculation is correct, I saved us 35k on the tables alone and countless of thousands as on any of the other furniture pieces I am having them make. All of the curtains are being custom made at a fraction of what you quoted me." I explain like I'm talking to one of my students.

"I understand. You are right. I will handle the details that you want." She says defeated as she realizes that she is not going to get her way.

"Sounds great. Dean and I are heading to the house to look at the work the painters did yesterday and to see the offices you set up. I'll text you what we think later." I say in a cheery tone and hang up before she can respond.

I take a deep breath to calm myself. I let my hands grip the steering wheel a little tighter.

"Well I think I can speak for the other two that, that was amazing love. How did you get that price for the tables?" Theo tells me.

"Oh, that was simple." I say and laugh at the thought. "I simply called and asked. I might have said that my wealthy boyfriend was moving his businesses to town and may have carpentry needs in the future and they would be our preferred vendor. And that we were looking to add additions on our new house in the future and I would give them a call then." I say innocently, batting my eyes at him in the rear-view mirror.

"That's pretty smart baby." Cas says resting a hand on my thigh. I shrug.

"I wanted to give local businesses a chance to show that they can do just as good work as those designers that she wanted to use." I explain.

"It's smart, we need to make those connections here if this is going to be our home and what better way to do that then giving local people a chance to showcase their work. You know the paper wants to do a story about us moving here and buying Mr. Burn's business and joining it with our other businesses. We could talk about that in the article." Dean says smiling at me.

"That's what I though too." I tell him, winking at him in the rearview mirror.

"So, are you excited our staff is arriving soon? You'll have your own PA, stylist, PR person, and maids." Dean asks me.

I can't help the grimace on my face. Who needs this many people to help them?? Cas laughs at me.

"What is that face for, huh?" He asks playfully giving my thigh a squeeze. I slap at his hand.

"Nothing, I just don't get why I need so many people." I say.

"Well, you will still be teaching once the school year starts so you will not have all day to deal with the normal things the Queen has to deal with. You need a PA to do those things and help you plan everything. The stylist will handle all the stuff you need for the many business and court dinners. The PR is for our companies. You have no idea how many people will start recognizing you and talking or posting about you. They will deal with it. The maids will lead the household staff and anything else you need. They are all essential for helping you have a sane life." Dean explains patiently.

I know I have not been the most open to the idea of having my own personal staff. I just don't know what to do with them. I mean Dean has explained it before, but I just don't get it.

I nod and decide to change the subject. "Are you guys excited to see the musical tonight with some of my family?"

"Of course, we are baby." Cas tells me as I pull into the house. We needed to get a little work done and then we will be heading to the Muny tonight to watch The Little Mermaid. I was so excited.

"You know, I used to go with them a lot as a kid. We always sit in this one area on the side because it's shaded, and no one sits there. I love it. My aunt had a friend that used to do the backdrops and we would get private tours backstage sometimes. I always loved looking at the costumes." I animatedly talk. Remembering all the amazing productions I have seen. I notice all of them indulgently listening and smiling at me.

"What is your favorite musical?" Dean asks sincerely.

"Well, if it was at the Muny I think Beauty and the Beast or Little Mermaid, any musical it would be Wicked or Mama Mia." I say thoughtfully.

I see him nod his head. I can almost see him storing that information for later. I pull into the driveway and we all head inside to do our work. I'm so exhausted
