Chapter 22

Kai squealed with terror, his eyes watering as he clung to his leader which was much smaller compared to him. "I can't do it! I'll fall and drown!"

Today Jimin had decided to teach him how to jump from one cloud the other, but Kai had tried to find the slightest excuse not to do it since he knew that if he had another panic or anxiety attack, his poor and small heart might stop beating.

He was a scared-y cat, that was for sure. He was afraid of needles, spiders, big bodies of water, small spaces, the color yellow. . . You name it and he'll probably squeal with terror like a little child meeting one of those white-faced clowns!

His legs were all trembling, his face was turning green with nausea and he seriously felt like peeing right now. He'd never felt as fearful as this, but that was mostly because he had Soobin and the others to hold hands with or hug whenever he needed mental or emotional support.

Don't get him wrong, he liked Jimin and he really liked to hug him as tightly as this, but this cute little dude wasn't Soobin.

Oh, goodness, how much did he need him right now. . . He missed his warm grayish eyes, his pretty colorless scales, his hugs, his dimples. He missed everything about him and it showed.

Jimin let out a sigh as he reassured the skinny 17-year old for the 100th time. "No, you won't fall, Kai." He looked up at the other three Air Tribe members that had accompanied them. "You'll be alright, baby. Our friends Chan, Jeongin and Rosé will be there with you to catch you if anything bad happens."

"B-B-But. . ." Kai's eyes welled up with tears filled with desperation. "I've never done this before! I'm a pathetic weakling, I can't do it. I'm scared that I'll drown." He then proceeded to burry his face against the leader's crook of the neck, basically soaking him with pitiful tears.

"Oh, your poor, baby. . ." Jimin pouted, running his small hands through Kai's tangled curly hair. "Shhh. It's alright, cry it out."

Kai didn't need to be told twice, his cheeks became puffy and his nose became runny as he sobbed and hiccupped, but the soft and soothing touch of his leader began to calm him down slightly.

As the younger's tears subsided, Jimin cupped his face and wiped away the remaining tears that were left on his cheeks. "You're not a pathetic weakling dear," He smiled, kissing the younger's nose. "You're a brave little swan." He then reached and held Kai's soft and trembling hands. "Fear are just four letters. The more negative thoughts you have and think about the negative possibilities, your fear will increase and paralyze you. You won't be able to do the things you want or try out new things on your own," He kissed Kai's hands, his smooth and cooing began to soothe him even more. "How do you know that you'll drown if you haven't left the mountain to dance along with the wind and the sun?"

As Kai stared at the leader's shining eyes and plum lips that formed a smile, he felt his cheeks begin to blush , so he lowered his gaze shyly and looked down at his feet. "But. . . What if. . ."

"What if what?" Jimin continued as the younger trailed off. "What if you make it? What if you start flapping those beautiful wings of yours and fly? What might happen as soon as you feel the white clouds bellow your feet?" Jimin chuckled, interlocking his fingers with Kai's, making the younger's cheek blush even more. "You'll know what being free means and what it is to be liberated from your fears and worries. You'll learn that your fear was meaningless and that you're more capable of doing something that you thought would be reason for your doom."

He finally ruffled Kai's hair, earning a cute giggle from the younger. "You'll be alright."

After getting another reassuring kiss on the nose and another one on his forehead, Kai finally found the courage to fly and jump onto a cloud. . . Even though he still wanted someone to hold his hand. "Okay, I'll do it," He pouted before opening his hand hopefully. "Will you hold my hand though?"
