Chapter 41

"Have you guys seen Changbin?" Wooyoung asked from his resting place at a nearby rock. "I haven't seen him since sun-high."

Mingi and Yunho shook their heads. "Haven't seen him either," Mingi turned to look at Beomgyu who was pacing all around. "What about you, cutie? Have you seen him?" 

"No." The younger replied simply, not wanting to be bothered while being in deep thought. It was true though, he actually hadn't seen Changbin since this morning, but his thoughts about that weird cat being up to something had made an invisible lightbulb light up above Beomgyu's head.

Maybe the cat was the fire and him and Yeonjun were the tree or-

"Why are you all fussing over Chanbgin's whereabouts?" Seonghwa leaped onto the rock that Wooyoung was lying down and pawed at the younger to move so he could rest too. "He's a grown warrior, he doesn't need any babysitters." 

"Can you guys stop interrupting me? I'm trying to think over here!" Beomgyu snapped furiously while fixating his glare on the four yawning tigers.

"Not again with the hallucinations." Wooyoung groaned, lifting his paw and rubbing it against his striped face when Beomgyu hissed at him. 

"Hallucinations?" Yunho lifted his head and whipped around to look at Wooyoung. "Wooyoung have you been exchanging those mushrooms for gems again?" 

"No. . ."

"WOOYOUNG!"

"WHAT? THE YOUTH LIKES THEM!"

Beomgyu covered his ears and massaged his temples, he couldn't think clearly if those four were constantly interrupting him by being loud. Everything just felt so odd to him now, he felt paranoid and the weird sensation of someone watching him made the mysterious incident even more eerie.

But feeling paranoid wasn't going to help him. I mean. . . What if he was over thinking all of this?

What if Wooyoung was right?

Was if everything had a whole different meaning to the one that Beomgyu had been deciphering?

What if his so-called vision didn't matter?

What if that thing was just trying to scare him?

There were so many questions crowding his mind, it almost felt like his head was about to burst. Couldn't it all be fine and perfect for at least a second?

Couldn't the world just leave him and his friends alone so they could breathe? Just let them rest and enjoy their peaceful moments, just-

Beomgyu saw something move from the corner of his eye, at first he thought it had been the feline he had seen, but was it Taehyung instead walking out of his den with his prey's bones in his hands ready to be buried or made into necklaces for the Fire Tribe couples to exchange.

His question, he had completely forgotten he had to talk to Taehyung about his plans with Yeonjun.

And. . . Those new thoughts were enough to outgrow the old and now Beomgyu was worrying about something completely different. 

What a mess. . .

The younger gazed up at his friends sitting on the rocks. Wooyoung gazed back at him and winked when Seonghwa joined and encouraged him to move forward.
