Chapter 53

"You're not coming here."

"Please?"

"No. Go back to your own den." Yeonjun narrowed his eyes at Taehyun. It had been hours since his talk with Beomgyu and their celebration. He felt exhausted more than ever, and the pounding in his head was seriously tempting him to lose his cool with the younger.

But as soon as Taehyun pouted his lips and made his leaf-green eyes grow huge, it was game over for Yeonjun.

The sight made Yeonjun's heart wrench. He immediately frowned and let out a huge sigh, hating himself for becoming a complete softie whenever the 'pity me' face was used on him. "You're so annoying." He grunted before finally moving away from the entrance, letting Taehyun come in.

Despite Yeonjun's obvious displeasure about the idea, Taehyun squeaked with delight and trotted inside. It wasn't unusual for them to sleep together. The younger would often sneak in and snuggle with Yeonjun whenever he'd come back from his obligatory vigils, demanding for the attention and affection that Yeonjun sometimes wasn't able to give him during his busy days.

Yeonjun would act surprised at finding the younger wrapped up underneath the blanket Yeonjun always refused to share, but he would still cuddle up with Taehyun. It was comforting to sleep with the younger whenever Beomgyu didn't feel like meeting him. That way, Yeonjun would be granted with at least one peaceful night without Eclipse showing up to torment him.

But Eclipse had other plans this time. . . And the presence of Taehyun wasn't going to stop him from disturbing Yeonjun.

Similar to his sleepless nights, Yeonjun's peaceful sleep was interrupted when the scent of sulfur and the odor of decay and rotting flesh filled his nose. His eyes suddenly flung open as his ears lifted because of the loud and painful cries echoing against the angry hissing of geysers.

Yeonjun lifted his head. His green and blue eyes tried to decipher where he was crouching between the exploding steamed water and the different-colored steam that brushed against his face and entered his nose, almost choking him.

Heavily coughing and with a hand covering the lower part of his face, Yeonjun looked at the place around him until his heart slowly sank with realization. . . This was a place he had always wished to never come back to. A place where his freedom and his morals had been taken away from him when he met the dark creature that was Eclipse.

The dark side of the moon.

Yeonjun's head moved from side to side. His eyes scanned the opened craters and the jotting geysers spewing hot fumes of green and blue, trying to see if he could spot the evil being that had hauled him here again.

Suddenly, a light crackle echoed against the explosion of the geysers, forcing the cries to fade away in fear of being found by the darkness coming near them. Yeonjun blinked twice against the green and blue fumes lighting the place, his eyes watching how the fumes moved to give way for the entity to come closer.

Dark sulfur and blackened moon-dust rose from the ground. The two mingled in a dark mist, swirling into a cloud of darkness that then shifted into the figure of a feline with wide and hollow eyes that shone brightly.

"Ah, there you are." The cat purred lowly. His tail swayed slowly from side to side as he stood up and leaped onto a jotting rock next to a geyser. The steam then swirled around his figure, lighting up Eclipse's fur a pale shade of green and blue, making the scene look even eerier to Yeonjun. "I was waiting for you."
