I sat awkwardly, fiddling with my fingers.

Anything could happen! What if my parents saw me? What if a nosy neighbor saw me? What if this date is not even interesting or romantic?

I glanced at Freddy. He was calmly playing a game on his phone. I leaned close and peeped. He was actually playing Subway surfer!

My lashes batted and my gaze fell on his face.

Geez, I can't understand how this boy is handsome. I guess you can't judge a person's look on uniform. See them on mufti and you will know what's up! True beauty can be hidden if you have an ugly uniform.

I gazed at his long lashes. How are boys so lucky with lashes! I want a long one too!

A small smile tugged on my face.

Nice work, Naomi! Your first boyfriend is handsome. How come I never saw this? I can be blind eh!

I froze when Freddy's eyes darted to mine. He arched a brow at me and examined my frozen face.

Why am I acting so weird today?

The tension of the car atmosphere increased when Freddy leaned in. It was as if he wanted to figure out something.

Wait! What? I didn't expect such a compliment.

I leaned away and blinked. I needed to digest those words I wasn't expecting.

"Tha...Thank you" I stuttered and snapped my head to stare at the window.

Don't mind me. I'm just doing what a girl would do at my situation. I'm blushing!

"You are acting different! What's wrong?" he asked.

"Hmm...Nothing!"

"Hey!" he placed a finger under my jaw and tilted my head till I was facing him. "You worry too much!"

I rolled my eyes.

"Trust me! I will do my best to make this date an awesome one! Just smile" he assured.

I definitely didn't want to smile but when he smiled, I got infected. His smile is charming.

Fine boy! But I won't tell you that!

I nodded and faced the window again.

"Hey, can you beat my highest score in Subway surfer?" he boasted. "I'm awesome in this game".

I pursed my lips and eyed him. "Awesome my foot! Gimme (Give me) that phone jare! Let me show you how it's done" I hissed.

Just in case you are not aware! I am not good at this game but to make this place fun. Let me just try my luck.

I began playing the game with absolute concentration.
