And in my case, my frienemy turned out to be a Mafia Reaper.

I've been avoiding --correction--WE have been avoiding each other since that encounter in that filty restaurant. We've been doing everything just to not notice the presence of one another. Even eye contact is highly being circumvent.

After Lucian dragged me out of the mall that time, hindi na ako nagsalita pa. I was completely dumbfounded and at the same time afraid. I mean, who wouldn't? All those time, akala mo na ang kasama mo ay mga normal lang din na mga estudyante, isang araw malaman laman mo nalang na isa pala siyang myembro ng Mafia.

All those time that I thought Lucian's aura was different, it's like, some kind of a deep and suffocating hole. Hindi mo malaman kung ano ang iniisip niya, hindi mo malaman kung ano ang binabalak niya. Akala ko gano'n lang talaga siyang tao, but there is a reason behind all that, and it shocked the hell out of me. Grabe, ang galing niyang magpanggap. Akala ko he's just intimidating and menacing because he's Lucian Kenwood, 'yon pala delekado talaga siyang tao. Silent but deadly.

"Huy, pinaglalaruan mo lang ang pagkain mo. May problema ka ba?" natauhan naman ako sa boses ni Makki.

"Sorry, I must have been pre-occupied."

"Is there something wrong Trie?" Oo Kiara.

"Ah, wala. Puyat lang siguro 'to." hindi na naman sila nagsalita at nagpatuloy lang sa pagkain.

Napatingin ako sa dereksyon ni Anika. Ang laki ata ng ngisi ng babae na 'to. May nakakatawa ba sa pagkain niya? Lumingon naman ako kang Makki, aba, nakangisi rin ang mokong. I smell something fishy dito sa dalawang 'to. May hindi ba sila sinasabi sa'kin? Bigla naman akong natigilan nang lumingon ako sa may pinto ng cafeteria.

I saw him.

Agad akong umiwas ng tingin sa kanya. Parang kinabahan ako bigla nang makita ko siya. 'Yong mapatingin ako sa blue niyang mga mata na parang tinatawag ka. Those intimidating, dangerous blue orbs.

"Makki, we need to talk." hindi ko napigilan ang sarili ko at hinila ko agad si Makk palabas ng cafeteria. I need answers, kung hindi, sasabog na ata 'tong utak ko.

"What is it Trie?" from the looks of his face parang kinakabahan siya. I think he has a clue kung anong sasabihin ko. I mean, it's not impossible that Lucian told him about what happened between the three of us including that Lucas Kenwood.

"It's... It's about Lucian." hindi niya lang ako sinagot at hinayaan ako magpatuloy. I honestly don't know if alam ni Makki ang about sa secret life ni Lucian pero I just really need to be enlightened.

"Is there some kind of possibility that, he... He could be part of a dangerous organization? Like the Mafia of some sort." I need to play safe in case if Makki doesn't really know about this. Hindi ako pwedeng maging pabaya sa isang private na information, I might get in trouble. Who the hell would want to get in trouble with the mafia?

I was hoping he would say 'no', pero napabugtong hininga siya. Kinabahan na naman ako.

"I know what happened with you and Lucas Kenwood, Trie. Yes, Lucian is of the Mafia." my heart sank when he said this.
