Closing In

"A-aray!" daing niya nang hilutin nito ang kanyang paa. Kunot ang noo ni Ewan. She puff an air as her face heated watching him.

Lila flinched with his touch. "Stop moving," ika ni Ewan na pokus sa kanyang ginagawa.

She gulped and pulled her leg away. "O-okay na."

Hindi niya mapigilang mailang kasama ang lalaki. Swimmer pala si Ewan. She felt stupid after jumping to the pool and acted like a hero. When in fact, she's the one who needs a saving. She shoved the thought behind her head. Ewan guided her inside their locker room.

Lila flailed her arms inside his huge shirt. Pinasadahan siya ng tingin ni Ewan. She immediately looked away.

He held his nape. "Sorry, wala akong ibang damit eh."

Masyado kasing malaki ang suot niya. She even needs to tie the track pants to its furthest so it won't fall from her tiny waist. Not to mention that his regular T-shirt is also too large for her.

"Sa'yo 'to, diba?" saad niya.

He made a face. "Jennie almost killed me because of this." He chuckled while showing the floral umbrella.

Nauuna siyang maglakad. She shivered as the wind blows through her damp hair.

"Thanks..." bulong niya.

She looked at him. His hands in his pockets as he gazed through the sky.

"Ewan?" she called him.

He looked back with a smile on his face. "Yeah?"

Pareho silang tumigil sa gitna ng field. Lila bit her lip. There's no right or wrong way to say this. It might be too assuming of her to even think about it. But she doesn't care anymore.

She gulped before proceeding. "I don't know what you're playing but I'm not falling for it."

He looked at her, confused. "Anong ibig mong sabihin?" His brows furrowed.

"Hindi kita gusto," she told him. Nanlaki ang mga mata nito. Bigla itong nagtakip ng bibig saka humagalpak ng tawa. Napailing siya sa asal nito. Ewan held his stomach, still chortling loudly. Hanggang sa umubo-ubo na ito.

"H-hoy! Napaano ka?" singhal niya. He finally stopped. His face, still red. He really likes to laugh, she thought. Ewan wiped the tears on his eyelids. Sumeryoso ang mukha nito habang tinititigan siya.

"Lila, you're so adorable. I said I like you... like a long lost little sister." He softly chuckled as he tussled her hair.

"Silly..." He shook his head and left. Her mouth still hang open.

Like a long lost little sister...

Like a long lost little sister...

Like a long lost little sister...

Like a broken record, her head replayed what he said. She's now in her bed. Lila, ano bang iniisip mo? Sinabunutan niya ang sarili sa inis. First she dived to save him without knowing that he's a good swimmer and then she rejected him without thinking what he really meant.
