Lance is a very carefree and flirtatious guy. He almost always had a smile on his lips. He'll flirt with just about anyone and knows how to charm the ladies. Despite his happier demeanor he does have a darker side. When left to himself he can fall into the dark hole of his thoughts. His fathers death and injury to his younger brother left a mark on him. Sometimes he still has nightmares of that night.

He is the middle of three kids. His eldest sister is now one of the dauntless leaders. When he was 11 an initiate broke into there home and shot his father and younger brother. His father ended up dying and his brother lost motor functions.
