Kabanata XXXII: Why Don't You?

Levi's PoV

Marahan ngunit mabilis ang mga hakbang na ginawa ko kasama sina Nero at Jae-ha.

Careful and vigilant.

What Athyeia said was factful. They might ambush us at the castle's right wing kung doon namin piliing dumaan.

Kaya naman nagpatianod na lamang ako sa kaniyang turo.

Maybe she really is messing with me. Siguro ay paulit-ulit niya lamang akong niloloko.

But the thing is, how could someone as innocent as her do something like that?

She is my first friend.

Truth be told, even I, am weirded by what is happening. Even still, I want to believe that green shade in her eyes that is full of innocence.

I want to believe her.

And I might be crazy for doing so.

"Stop." I commanded when I saw a thin plastic wire ahead of us. Lumuhod ako at tiningnan nang maiigi kung saan iyon nagtatapos. "It's a bomb, fall bac—Back!!" Sigaw ko matapos maganap ang isang malakas na pagsabog.

It didn't even shocked me when I saw a man waiting for us.

So Athyeia really is a big conspiracy.

Even still, I want to believe that this is not a part of her plans.

Nagtapon siya ng isang granada, lucky for us we were able to step back.

"Tsk. Tsk." Muling naghagis ng bomba ang lalaki. "You're pretty fast." He applaud when we were able to maneuvered away from the second explosion. "We could have been friends if I weren't here to kill you."

Instead of listening to the bald guy's bickering, agad akong humugot ng baril at pinatamaan siya ng sunod-sunod.

He's quite fast.

I loaded up my gun. Sinubukan niyang barilin kami kasama ang dalawa niyang mga kasama habang isinasagawa ko iyon.

Jae-Ha threw a kunai knife towards the other guy, seconds later, blood started spouting from the forehead of his other men.

"That's nice." Tila manghang sambit ng aking kapatid habang pinapanood ang mga nangyayari.

I just shrugged at him, if there is one thing I know about him, wala iyang gagawin unless the situation really calls for it.

Walang mintis na inasinta ko iyong isa pa niyang kasamahan. Dumiretsyo iyon sa puso nito at makalipas ang ilang segundo ay kusa nang bumigay ang kaniyang katawan at nahulog siya sa kalamigan ng sahig.

"Damn you!" Sigaw noong lalaking saaking palagay ay namumuna sa kanina. "Putangina mo!" I looked at him with bloodshot eyes.

No one messes with my mother and goes away with it.

Kahit mabilis ang ginawang paggalaw ng lalaki, nakuha kong paputukan ang kaliwang braso nito.

Isinunod ko iyong kaniyang tagiliran.

He advanced towards me.

Is he planning to punch me?

I smirked. Anong magagawa niya?

To my surprise, he suddenly pulled a knife from his back. I was caught of guard for a second and he was about hit me when two gunshots were fired.

The man fell in front of me.

Base sa tattoo niya sa likod ay parte siya ng isang rebeldeng grupo na tinatawag na 'Asintados'

I looked behind me.

Hindi ko napigilang magulat nang makita ang kapatid ko at si Athyeia na parehong may hawak na baril.

The two gunshots I last heard were theirs.

But what is she doing here?

"Levi!" Muling sigaw ni Athyeia na nakatayo nang malayo-layo mula saaking pwesto.

I just found myself staring at her as she ran towards me.

It was too late before I realized that the one whom Jae-Ha attacked by the forehead were still alive.

Nagpaputok si Jae-Ha ng baril patungo sa puwesto ng nakadapang lalaki. At the same time, I felt a bullet hit my waist.

What followed it, was blood gushing out of my system.

"Oh God! V!" Tarantang sigaw ni Athyeia at nilapit iyong mukha niya saaking sugat.

Instead of minding Athyeia, I simply touched the area and looked at my brother. "Run fast, surround them and take them down." Utos ko sa kaniya.

My brother is annoying as fvck and looks as if he's just a normal sucker with a silver spoon in his mouth but he can also lead troops well.

"Divide and conquer." Nakatango nito saaking sabi. "I kind of missed playing."

As much as I want to be with them, baka mamatay muna ako bago pa ako doon makarating. Kilometro ang bibilangin patungo sa kabilang parte ng palasyo.

"Please use the left wing! It's much safer. The rebels implanted a bomb in here." Saad ni Athyeia. Tiningnan ko ang kaniyang mukha at tinitigan.

How could she look utterly sincere even after being a part of this plan?

"Understood. Let's go Jae-Ha." Saad naman ng aking kapatid at tumalikod na saamin.

When they disappeared, I let myself sat down the cold marbled floor.

"Why are you here?" I questioned Athyeia. Instead of answering me immediately, she sat next to me and started tearing her already tattered clothes.

"What do you mean?"

I heaved out a sigh. "You're one of the rebels aren't you?" Pagdidiretsyo ko dito. "Why don't you kill me now?"
