A couple of days later, Carlos sat in his bedroom and glanced outside the window. He could see Auradon from here. He looked at Ben's castle. His eyes then fell on his own reflection. He looked at his eyes. They were brown.
Not red, like his mother had described to him. His eyes focused back on the castle. 'What could he be doing right now?' he asked himself. He wasn't thinking about Ben, he was thinking about his father. That was all he could think about.
He has always been curious about his father. A boy needs a father figure in his life. Maybe that's why he used to be a coward. Not just because his mother scared the hell out of him, but because he never had a father figure in his life.
He sighs and tries to think of something else. He turned around and walked towards the door. He walked past Mal's magic mirror.
He caught a small glimpse of red in his eyes. Mal enchanted her mirror so it would show anyone who stands in front of it who they really are.
You can't trust anyone. Carlos took a step back and took a better look at himself. His eyes were red, his skin was rather pale, and he wore different clothes. He blinked a couple of times, but nothing worked. He was terrified by himself.
"Carlos." A whisper sounded. The young king glanced around. No one else was in the room with him. He was alone. "Step closer, Carlos." The voice whispered again. It was a female voice, and it sounds familiar. "Who's there?" He asked.
"I'm the one who did this to you, Carlos." She said quietly. Carlos raised his eyebrow. "Did what to me?" He asked her. A laugh echoed through the room. "I spelled you of course." She said and laughed again. Carlos recognized that laugh.
"Aurdrey?" He said. "That's me." The voice was now behind him. He turned around. Audrey stood in front of him. He jumped and his back hit the desk. Audrey laughed. "Don't be afraid. I'm not here to hurt you. Not yet." She smirked.
"What do you want?" Carlos asked Sleeping Beauty's daughter. She pressed her scepter against his chest. "I wanted to check on my future king." She smirked.
"What are you talking about?" Carlos questioned.
"It's time for a little payback." Sh tells him.
"Mal took everything from me. My happiness. my man, and my crown. I want her to feel the pain I felt." She said. Her voice was darker and more serious than ever.
"Audrey, this isn't you." Carlos said calmly. Audrey laughed and pressed her scepter against his chest again. "You're wrong, this is who I was meant to be." She said.
Carlos glanced at the mirror behind Audrey. He still looked the same, but Audrey appeared...normal. Carlos could see this wasn't her.
"Audrey, please, undo all of this. This won't make you happy." He tells her. She shook her head. "I don't think so. The day Mal loses you, Melanie, and everyone she cares about, will be the best day of my life. And I'll be waiting for it.
Be prepared, Carlos. By the end, you will thank me. For everything." The daughter of Sleeping Beauty said and disappeared in a pink cloud.
