As I limped home tears started threatening to fall but I held them back. I just couldn’t understand it! Chase was my friend. Emphasis on friend. And I couldn’t’t help but wish it was Ash who kissed me. What the hell did that mean? That I’m in some don’t of love with Ash? That’s ridiculous! This whole thing is just so complicated!

Once I got home I found the door wide open. I guess Ash had gotten home before me. Weird I thought he was getting my coke when I left. But I didn’t’t give it a second thought as I slammed the door shut angrily; I had better things to worry about.

‘Finally decided to stop swapping saliva, huh?’

‘What are you on about Ash?’ I asked tiredly to Ash who was sitting on one of the sofas.

‘You know exactly what I’m on about!’ He snapped coldly

‘What do you-’ I stopped mid-sentence as I realised what he was talking about. ‘You saw me and-’

‘You and Chase?’ He finished for me angrily. ‘So you admit it do you?’ I shook my head

‘No Ash you don’t understand! I-’ He rose his hand to silence me as he stood up

‘You know what? Save it for someone who gives a damn!’ He walked past me towards the door.

‘Listen to me Ash!’ I said in frustration. ‘He kissed me - don’t you get it?!’ He snapped and turned to face me

‘No. I don’t get it Rhi! I don’t get any of this! He may have kissed you first but you didn’t’t push him off straight away did you?’ A tear that had been long threatening to fall trickled down coldly against my hot flustered cheek. I can’t believe what I did next but my limbs took control - not me.

His face looked shocked as my palm slid across his face leaving a red mark in its wake.

‘I was shocked, okay? Just listen!’ I screamed pushing him back onto the sofa ‘I didn’t’t know what was happening! He came on to me not that other way around so just drop it okay!?!’

‘How can I Rhi? How can I when I see the girl I love is kissing some other guy?’ My eyes widened in shock at his words

‘Y-Y-you lov-love me?’ I stuttered. He looked me straight in the eyes

‘I did. I’m not so sure now.’ With that he grabbed his keys and left the house, slamming the door behind him.

As I heard his car drive away I broke down on the cold floor tears streaming from my face. Somewhere amongst my sorrow Brook broke into the room

‘Rhi? Rhi are you okay?’ She kneeled beside me cradling me into her while the tears flooded.

~The Next Morning~

My pillow was still a little damp from last night as I rolled over to see Brook. She must have stayed with me. The memories of last night came flushing back to me and my eyes stated watering. NO! No you will NOT let this bring you down Rhi!

I automatically got up forgetting about Brook.

I went into the bathroom staring at myself dead on. Take a long hard look Rhi I said to myself. My eyes were slightly wider and rimmed with red from crying whilst my cheeks were still a deep red. Now what the hell are you going to do? That’s the question.
