"She is absolutely alright, she fell on her back and there was no trauma to her abdomen or uterus, I had to knock her out because she was panicking which would have caused the baby more harm than the fall." The Hakim informed the trio present in Meera's room.

After the Hakim left, Haider took seat on the chair of the patio table kept in her balcony.
Hania and Jamila had taken a seat on either side of Meera on the bed, they all were waiting for Meera to wake up.

An hour of uncomfortable silence and a lot of pacing later, they heart Meera groan and saw her hand twitch.

"Malika." Hania called to her.
Meera slowly fluttered her eyes open.

As soon as she saw Hania's tensed face her eyes pooled with tears. Had she lost her child ?

"Meera." She heard the all too familiar voice, her hands and feet went cold.
'Does he know?' She thought.

"Hania." She croaked looking at her. Hania picked the glass of water and helped her sit up, holding the glass close to her mouth.

"Everything is fine." Hania said in a soft voice. "And he knows." She said looking at Haider who snapped his neck in her direction and gave her a sharp look.

"Does Ammi know ?" He asked in a detached tone.

"No." Meera whispered.

Haider laughed humourlessly.

"Of course you wouldn't tell her. Your last crutch would leave you too." He said looking at her accusingly.

"What do you mean ?" Meera narrowed her eyes at him standing up from the bed.

"What i mean is Meera." He said walking towards him. "This child would be proof enough for Ammi be to realise what a characterless woman you are." He spat.

"Whose is it by the way. Amer's illegitimate heir or someone els-."

A loud slap echoed through the walls of the room.

"Buss. Not another word, not about my child." Meera seethed, tears rolling down her eyes from all the pent up anger.

"You have punished me for a lot of things Haider Zahoor Ali Khan, you took me away from my home for your revenge, you married me for your revenge, you pushed me down a life I never wanted to have but I never said a word."

"You blamed me, you branded me as a characterless woman, you locked me, you starved me I never said a word." She said her eyes red with rage.

"You treated me like thrash, you slept with other women, you hurt me, you hit me, yo..you raped me and I took it all."

"You brought another woman into your life, you mar..married her, you are going to father her child and I still wished the best for you, but not anymore. I'm not going to stand her listen to you talking ill about my baby, I'm not going to accept you call my unborn baby names Haider Ali Khan, this is my child and you have no right to spoil his life like you did mine." She said pushing him by his shoulder.

Haider stumbled on her push but steadied himself. He looked at her and saw an unknown fierce woman standing in front of him. His meek Meera showed no similarities with her other than her physical appearance.

Haider wanted to yell at her for treating him the way she had in front of her companions but his voice was caught in his throat, he for the first time felt scared of someone, he was scared of the lady who stood in front of him.

"I was a fool to have stayed for so long, I should blame myself as much as I blame you." She said sitting down on her bed. "I should have left the day you accused me of having an affair with Shiv, I should have left you the day you stopped trusting me. But I'm not going to repeat my mistake again, I'll be leaving tomorrow at sun rise, after today you don't have to see my face ever in your life again Haider and I'm happy i don't have to see yours because your face, it is just going to remind me of how i fell in love with the wrong person, your face will remind me of my mistake." She spat.

"Hania, Jamila please pack everything, leave behind all the jewellery and clothes I've ever received from the Mughal coffers." Meera said sternly.

"Once I'm settled I'll make sure you get the documents of the khula, all I've got from you I'm leaving behind, the gold, the silver, the silk, the pain, the humiliation, everything you've ever given me I'm leaving behind as my mehr." She turned around, her back towards him.

"I'm asking you for one thing, it's my peace, please never try contacting me ever again." She said closing her eyes as she shed her last tear for him.

Meera remained rooted to her spot.
She could hear shuffling of foot and a loud bang of her door.

Haider had walked away and now it was her turn to walk out for her own good.
