"Woohoo! Finally, some adventure!" Ray almost screamed with excitement.

"Ray, where are the car keys? We should leave soon," Maya said, gathering her curly hair in an attempt to tie them into a bun.

Tej scratched his neck, looking a little unsure.

"Tej, we don't know anything about this place. Do you understand how dangerous this can be, guys?" Advika said, crossing her arms.

"But we're going there so that we can know the place," Maya opposed.

Advika nodded, glancing at the wall clock hanging above the LED TV across the sofa. It read 11:00 p.m.

"At this time of the night," she said.

Tej suggested, "Let's do one thing. Let's go there and see. We won't get out of the car if we sense any danger. We'll visit early morning then."

"I agree. We'll do that," Ray said. "I'll get the car keys."

Maya sported a subtle smile and lowered her gaze, a rush of adventure coursing through her veins.

Zarna fashioned her hair into a high bun and approached Advika. "Ladies," she chirped. "It's time to move," she declared, tugging Advika and Maya toward the door, brimming with enthusiasm to embark on their exciting adventure.

Advika rubbed her palms nervously as she peered outside the car window. In the distance, an ancient, ruined temple came into view.

"Nobody in plain sight," Ray remarked, scanning the surroundings. Maya reached into her jeans pocket and pulled out a small device that looked like a cell phone.

"Seriously, Maya?" Advika said with a nod of her head.

Ray turned to look at the device. "Is this a..."

"Yes, this device can detect ghosts," Maya said with a smile. "We call it the spirit detector."

Advika couldn't help but ask, "Where did you get this device?"

"She works in the supernatural studies department, Adu," Zarna remarked with a chuckle.

"I bet you stole it," Ray teased, winking at Maya. She giggled and playfully punched him.

Tej unbuckled his seat belt and turned to Maya. "So, does your device detect any ghosts nearby? What's the range it works?"

Maya pressed a black button on the device, and a green light flashed on the small screen. "It can detect energies, negative energies up to a range of a few meters," she revealed.

"Negative," Maya said as the device showed no signs of any supernatural activity.

Tej nodded and stepped out of the car, putting on his overcoat. "After me," he said, and the others followed suit, eager to explore the mysterious temple ruins.
