The Conference Call

The ancient library was a vast, dimly lit chamber filled with towering shelves of books and scrolls. The air was musty, carrying the scent of old parchment and leather bindings. Dust motes danced in the faint light that filtered in from high windows, giving the room an ethereal quality.

The shelves were packed with volumes of various sizes, some with intricate, ornate covers, others plain and weathered with age. Ancient tomes lined the walls, their spines cracked and faded, bearing the weight of centuries of knowledge.

The room was quiet, save for the occasional creak of wooden shelves and the rustle of pages as a gentle breeze wafted through the chamber. The atmosphere was one of reverence and antiquity as if the very walls held secrets waiting to be discovered by those who dared to seek them.

Indra picked up a hefty book from the shelf in the library behind the ancient temple. "Forest?" he asked, flipping through the pages.

"Yes, according to legend," Dai Ma responded, taking a seat nearby. "The book is said to have the power to manifest any place it imagines."

Outside the grand, ancient library windows, a young boy crouched, unnoticed, as Indra and Dai Ma conversed.

"But why do you think it will create a forest?" Indra inquired, taking a seat beside Dai Ma and placing a few books on the table.

"The book does as it pleases, Indra," Dai Ma explained. "It can shape an environment, a sanctuary for itself."

"Yet, here we are, striving to protect it," added Indra, as he opened one of the books.

"The book selects its master, someone it deems righteous, strong, and wise," he read from the book's pages.

"The Legends of the Elements by Giva Moore," it proclaimed.

"The book will train those it chooses and prepare them for the ultimate war," he continued, sighing.

War? wondered the boy as he pressed his ear against the windowpane, listening intently.

"Why not?" Maya asked, closing the door to her bedroom. "Because it's too risky," Advika responded, her earphones in place.

The group was on a conference call, discussing their plans.

"I think Advika is right," Ray chimed in, reclining on his bed. "We were almost caught yesterday. We should wait."

"I agree," Tej added.

"Let's disguise ourselves and go," Zarna suggested, followed by a brief pause.

"We can do that, actually," Advika said, nodding.

"Let's decide on our disguises first, something inconspicuous. We don't want to attract attention," Maya suggested.

"Okay then, guys, think of a person or character, but it should look ordinary," Tej said.

"We'll discuss our costumes in the group chat," Ray added.

"Yes, we can post pictures of ourselves disguised as characters and then decide," Zarna added.

"Okay," Tej and Advika replied in unison, ready to move forward with their plan.
