Chapter 17

Pagod kong nilagay sa gilid ng sofa ang maleta ko, I lossen up my necktie while I lazily walk towards the sofa, pabagsak akong umupo rito, I massaged my temple with my eyes closed.

"Mommy!"

Napadilat ako ng marinig ang boses ni Natasha, I immediately smile when I saw her cheerful smile while running towards me, sa likod naman niya ay si Nathaniel na natatawang umiiling nalang.

Natawa ako ng patalon niya akong niyakap, I've been in other country for three days, sinadya ko talagang pakyawin ang flights na iyon para pwede akong magday-off bukas, the owner of The airport I am working with is a friend kaya hindi ako masyadong nahirapan.

"How's my Natasha?"

My Six year old daughter giggled when I kissed her neck. "Not that happy until you came home."

I smiled while staring at her eyes... she got his eyes. "Don't worry mommy will not fly tomorrow."

"Of course it's Nicky and I's Birthday!"

She's only six but she talk a lot, she's jolly and often a tease, hindi ka makakatulog ng maayos sa gabi kapag siya ang kasama mo dahil tiyak na sakit ng katawan ang matatamo mo.

"Good evening." Bati sa akin ni Nathaniel habang papalapit sa akin, he kissed me on my cheek before sitting beside me.

"Mommy, Daddy Nathaniel,  when will I see Nicky again?"

My heart ache. Nickh her twin brother didn't survive. He died because I was reckless, he died because of me. Mukhang napansin ni Nathaniel na sinisisi ko nanaman ang sarili ko kaya inagaw niya sa akin si Natasha, he carried my daughter and make her sit on his lap.

"Anak, Nicky is somewhere safe and far. Hindi natin siya basta-bastang makikita, we can't visit him nor see him, even for a second." Sinulyapan ako ni Nathaniel.

"But I want to see him!"

Nathaniel chuckled, to lighten up the mood. "Look at the mirror and imagine yourself having a short hair, then you'll see your brother."

Sumimangot si Natasha at nagkwento na patungkol sa mga kaklase niya. I stayes silent and just let my daughter speak, I missed her so much, kaya ng nakatulog na siya ay ako na mismo ang kumarga sa kaniya at dineretso ko na siya sa kwarto ko. Nathaniel and I are now living together, he bought a condo for us, actually he insisted to buy another one for himself but I told him to live with us, nakakahiya naman kasi, sa kaniya ang condo na ito tapos siya pa ang walan titirahan, he is now a Pilot, pero magkaiba ang Airport na pinagtra-trabahuan namin, I work for Hialeah Airport while he work for Blue D's Aiport.

Blue D's Airport is owned by his uncle, tito Ciato, actually he once told me to work there with him, pero tumanggi ako, Dahil ayaw kong magkaroon ngayon trabaho dahil sa kanila, sila na nga ang nagpaaral sa akin, at nagsuporta sa amin ng anak ko. Ang Hialeah Airport naman kung saan ako nagtratabaho ay pagmamay-ari ni Jeremiah, he is strict and cold, hindi ko nga maalala kung paano kami naging magkaibigan eh, all I could remember is, he called me to his office ask me about Muse- Kapatid ng triplets,  and then we became friends. I have this feeling that he got something for Muse, pero ang ipinagtataka ko lang ay bakit di niya ito pormahan?

"I'll get the car first." Paalam ni Nathaniel saka kami iniwan ni Natasha sa tapat ng simbahan.

I watched his back, he looks so manly while walking,  lalaking-lalaki. Napatawa nalang ako dahil sa iniisip.
