October came quite quickly.

It was Thursday October 2nd, and Akane was currently brushing her teeth at 6:52AM.

She noticed her sleep schedule was slowly becoming ruined because she had to stay up until 12AM each school night in order to understand the material she learned that day.

She didn't want to ruin her health later on, but she also didn't want to score an average lower than 90%.

Akane removed the toothbrush from her mouth and rinsed it, spat the foamy white mixture from her mouth and gargled water. Then she stared at the mirror.

She had to keep it together. It was only her 2nd year.

But at the same time, she kept on finding herself wanting to learn how to calm down her workaholic tendencies.

~

If she knew she was gonna find the answer to that question, Akane would've been so ecstatic her grades might have started soaring through the sky like eagles.

But it didn't come in the form she was expecting.

And it couldn't be shared, too.

These thoughts never entered her head at the time, though, because life just kept passing by and Akane saw each day as another day to try and survive university. She knew she had to make her parents proud, but she couldn't help but feel lethargic each time she stepped in.

She's done her best for so long already, so what now?

Mentioning this to her closest friends would sound selfish, right?

Akane didn't know. She didn't want to trouble Chen Guo and Tang Rou with her personal problems. Besides, it was only October. There was still plenty of time for her to pull herself together enough so that she could feel the same as her past self in the summer.

She had parked her motorcycle, stuffed the keys in her backpack like usual and made it to the entrance.

But she didn't go inside right away.

It was now 7:47AM, and class was going to start in 13 minutes.

That wasn't what was bothering her, though. Something about this scene struck her as déjà vu.

The sound of a motorcycle engine that wasn't hers could be heard in the distance.

She seemed to be the only student that took notice of it. The other students that had arrived were scurrying inside the university, chatting to friends about plans for studying, extracurricular activities and tests. Some entered alone, not saying a word to anybody.

Akane couldn't bring herself to go inside with them.

She stood a good metre or 2 away from the entrance and waited.

The sound was getting closer.

This time, she got to see the owner of the motorcycle she'd seen parked in the mornings ride in. Akane watched with intrigue and a racing heart as he pulled into the parking lot. His parking space was close to the entrance, so Akane had a good look at him and dropped her jaw in shock.

So he did go to this university.

Not that she didn't know, she kind of assumed based on evidence she observed herself, but the confirmation was nice.

He was wearing the same damn brown leather jacket, a light blue T-shirt underneath this time, the same dark jeans/maybe a similar pair since these ones had a few small rips and the same black combat boots.

The helmet was the same sleek black one she'd seen him wearing as he "rode with her" in the mornings.

Why it took her so long to have this confirmed right before her very eyes, Akane had no idea.

However, staying and watching as he swiftly took off his helmet left her awestruck and super grateful she didn't turn around at any point to go to her lecture.

He had straight, wild white chunks of hair that served as a severe contrast compared to the undercut he sported underneath. She watched as he ran his fingerless-gloved hand through them in an attempt to smooth them down due to how messy they became under his helmet. A few strands still fell past his fingers and over his face.

He placed his duffel bag on his motorcycle's seat to quickly stuff his helmet inside. Then he faced her direction without warning and she swooned on the inside.

From what she saw, his face was gorgeous. Masculine, chiseled, fair skin standing out just like his hair compared to his dark attire.

Am I dreaming?  she wondered absently, still staring. There's no way a guy this handsome actually exists and pulls off such a wild hairdo, right...?

Remembering his duffel bag was now zipped, Akane panicked and nearly dropped her textbooks because of the fact that he was gonna come up. Why the heck am I acting so weird right now?  she thought furiously, clutching her textbooks as if they were her babies.

When he came up to the entrance, though, she couldn't help but just stand in shock while watching him approach the steps. His eyes didn't look normal. His scleroses were pitch black, and his irises were a ruby-red color.

However, he didn't take note of her shocked expression. He just marched past her, pushed open the doors and walked in, disappearing from view.

Akane stood there looking lost until the bell towers started chiming loudly, announcing students had to get to class.
