"I'm so hungry." I sigh as I'm laying on Iroh's arms. We haven't moved since I confessed my feelings for him, it's like we only care about being with each other and not letting go. The blanket is wet from the snow but there's nothing moving me. It's just us, and I feel so comforted and happy.
I never thought that I could feel so comfortable around someone. I never thought there'd be someone who cared so much for me. Especially after my accident. But I see now that Iroh always cared, from the beginning. He cared about me before and after I was burned, and to think that he cared for me when I was feeling so bad about myself is just mind-boggling for me. He still cared for me even when I was confused about my feelings and hurt him by interrupting our kiss.
He cared and still cares for me, in all of my facets. The good and the bad. The broken and the best parts of me.
He chuckles as her runs his fingers through my hair. "When are you not, Luna?"
"Hey!" I laugh, poking him in the chest for his teasing. "It's in my genes. Gran-Gran told me that I take after her brother's eating habits."
Iroh smiles. "Yeah, I think grandad has mentioned him a couple of times." He informs me with a nod. "He always seems so happy when talking about his days with his friends despite them literally being in a war."
I nod. "Gran-Gran doesn't talk about it that often. I think it's because she misses her brother and my grandad."
"It must be really hard on her." Iroh notes.
"Yeah." I sigh.
We stay in silence for a while, just appreciating each other's presences. It's silent for a while, but it's that comfortable silence. The one that doesn't feel pressured or awkward, but just is. I look up and begin to scan Iroh's face. I see his jawline, and his light skin. He's smiling, and I'm not even sure if he's aware that he's smiling. I see his dimple and begin to melt inside as I think it's like the cutest thing ever. I reach out and poke his cheek.
Iroh chuckles and looks down to meet my eyes. "What are you doing?"
"You're just cute, you know?" I say nonchalantly, a big smile forming on my lips.
His smile widens even more. "I'm cute?" He queries, to which I nod. "Have you seen yourself?"
I giggle sheepishly. "Iroh. Trust me. And I mean, trust me. You're the attractive one in this relationship."
I see him smirk. "Relationship?" He echoes smugly.
My eyes widen and my heart begins to pound rapidly. I scramble out of his grasp and get on my knees. "I-I didn't mean to like, assume, or pressure whatever we are, um, into a relationship. I just meant, you know, we're something and 'relationship' just felt like the best word to describe it, you know? Haha. Oh, gosh, I'm so stupid sometimes. Why is my mouth so big? Like, do I ever know when to stop talking? I just—"
"Luna." Iroh coos, cutting me off. He reaches down and grabs my hand, tracing his thumb along my hand in a soothing manner. "I was just teasing you. We don't have to define anything yet. Not until we're both ready to do so, it was just nice hearing you say we're in a relationship."
I feel a deep crimson blush rush to my cheeks. "Thanks." I say sincerely. "You're really good at making me feel comfortable, you know?"
"I didn't know but I'm glad that that's the case." Iroh replies with a bright smile.
I stand up and breathe in deeply, taking in the crisp and cold air. I turn around and extend my hand down for Iroh to reach. "Come on, let's go."
He takes my hand and stands up besides me. "Where are we going?"
