"Hi Jaehyun!" Your cheerful voice greet me that evening.
"Hi Areum. Here. I bring some takoyaki for you." I say as I reach out a paper bag to you.
"Wow, thank you! I really love takoyaki." You say before I hear a rustling sound. "God, these look so good. Did you make it by yourself?"
"Nah, Yuta makes it. I just helping by giving a moral support beside him."
You chuckle. Then I hear you exclaim a little bit loudly, "Jaehyun, this is so delicious. I swear!"
"Glad you like it."
"Anyway, why do you look so happy today Jae? Did something good happen?"
"I did?" Am I being too obvious?
"Yep. You still didn't stop smiling up until now."
"Well... I have a good news to tell you."
"What is it?"
"I'm going to see again."
"Huh? W-what?"
"Areum, I finally get a donor for my eyes."
Silence. It linger in the air, thick and heavy, like a blanket.
"Areum, are y-" I halt in my words when I feel you wrap your arms around me. I stiffen for a few seconds because I never expect you to hug me. I can even smell the lavender scent from your hair.
"Remember I had told you to never give up? This is it. The wait is over. Your wait is over. You can finally see." You whisper, your voice is almost inaudible as you choke with sobs.
"Then, why're you crying?"
"Because I'm so happy for you. I know how much you want to see the world again. I know how long you wait for this to happen. And after a long time, your wish is granted."
Your words make my heart flutter, like a dandelion riding on the wind.
In your embrace, I feel like a cherished child.
And I feel the world around me melt away as I return your hug, squeezing you tighter against me because I don't want this moment to end.
