Mattia noticed that Zamira loved him after a year of her being with him but he didn't love her.
He never did.
He was married.
With Gia.
He only kidnapped her for money.
And her family had it.
Her father was a millionaire.
And her mother was basically his maid. She wanted to be dead, she was tired of working for her father which is why they always argued.
After Zamira's mother threatened her father to leave with Zamira he gave her to Mattia.
Again, for money. Only money.
Which is why he kept her for three years.
But once Mattia found out Gia was pregnant with their first child.

He wanted to stop what was going on and give Zamira back to her father but he didn't want her back so he killed Mattia and left Zamira alone in a apartment building with a bomb in it.
Zamira died and created this imaginary world.
