"Sorry, give me a minute," I say to James and I run out of Last Words after Zac. "Zac, stop!" I shout out to him, but he was a good distance ahead.

"Isaac!" I shout again and he stops at the end of the street and turns to face me, and I catch my breath after practically running after him. I've never been athletic, so doing this short sprint made my heart race.

"What's up? What are you doing?" I ask when I near him. I wrap my arms across my chest to keep out the cold.

I tried to avoid how he was already affecting my body, just with the sight of his tall, lean body. He wore a dark grey denim jacket

"What am Idoing?" he rhetorically asks. "What are youdoing?"

"I'm working," I state.

"Working on what? Your relationship with James?"

I stood shocked on the sidewalk, gaping at Zac.

"Are you being serious right now?"

"What were you doing with him?"

"He came to shop," I state, trying to keep my voice low but he was making it very hard to do so.

"Yeah, it looked like he was doing a lot of shopping."

"Oh sure, because it also looked like you were breaking up with Sara when her shirt was off and you guys were kissing," I responded back, I was yelling now and so was he.

"I was and I have broken up with her, when are you going to break up with him, because he clearly hasn't got the hint."

"I can't break things off with someone when there was nothing there," I reply back with an all-knowing look in my eyes.

"You did with us," he responds back softly, and I'm left standing there quietly, staring at him with anger in my eyes.

"That's because you still had a girlfriend, while you were messing around with me," I said, half of it through my teeth. I was mad and getting even angrier.

"What was last night then?" he says, hurt clear in the sound of his voice.

"Last night I was drunk and horny," I honestly answer. "And you were there, available."

"That's surely not it... you felt something, Alison, you can't sleep without me, and I can't sleep without you..." He bends down slightly to try and look into my eyes. "Why do you think I was awake when you came home... I need you to get me to sleep."

My heart broke knowing that he couldn't sleep either, but that didn't excuse the fact that he waited as long as he did to finally end it with his girlfriend at the time.

"I felt nothing that I wouldn't usually feel when I'm with a guy," I lie.

"You're lying," he calls me out. "You have to be lying." He speaks as if I wasn't there now. Like he was reassuring himself.

"What I felt last night doesn't matter. I am not a second choice," I tell him. "I'm not someone you can have around on the side to see if anything will come from it." I was raising my voice now and I watch as a passing car stares at us out of the window, but I gave zero fucks.

"That wasn't what happened, Alison."

"Then what happened, Zac?" I look at him with wide eyes. "You messed around with me, didn't realise how much you would like it, probably felt super guilty and had to break up with your girlfriend? Does that sound about right?"

"That's not what happened. I broke up with her before... before you came."

"Oh yeah, that's why she was shirtless..."

I nodded my head in response.

"Why are you here, Zac?" I respond with my eyes closed.

"You left me this time," he stares into my eyes.

"Yes, because I had work," I stated, rolling my eyes. "So, why are you here?"

He runs his fingers in his hair and looks down the street and then suddenly takes a step towards me, gripping his hands on my face and plants his lips on mine aggressively. At first, I resist him, blocking his tongue from entering my mouth.

"Kiss me," he says, and I open my mouth wider for him, letting our tongues glide fluidly over each other. He tastes just as good as when I last kissed him.

I grip my hands in his jacket while his hands hold my face and he bite my bottom lip.

He parts from me, resting his forehead on mine and breathed heavily.

"That's why I came," he says and walks down the street and I watch him go, shocked.

I turn around and walked back towards the bookstore, seeing James standing where I left him.

"I'm sorry," I tell him when I stand back in front of him.

"Is he treating you okay?" James asks, worry laced in his eyes.

I mean, apart from him having a girlfriend while he was with me...

"He treats me well," I say.

"He should treat you like a Queen," James says, and a chill runs down my body. I smile awkwardly at him.

Jane comes down from the aisle carrying two books and I thank the Heavens for the change of subject. She looks down at both of the books in her hands. "I don't know which one I should get..." she ponders.

"Could always get both?" I suggest.

She looks up at her brother with a question in her eyes.

"Bloody hell, sure," he says and Jane cheers and goes to hug her brother. He looks at me with feigned annoyance in his eyes and a large smirk on his mouth.

"So just those two?" I ask, looking between the both of them.

I notice it's a very popular teen fiction series, that I've read when I was younger.

"These are really good, by the way," I tell her.

"Really?" she asks, exciting on her face.

"You'll love it." I put the receipt in one of the books and hand them both to her.

"Thank you, Alison," she says and smiles at me.

"Thank you, Ali," he says.

"Stop by the Bar tomorrow night and I'll give you a drink on the house."

"Maybe I will if you're there," he states with a smile.

"I will be," I smirk and wave goodbye as they exit the store.

What the fuck am I going to do with Isaac?
