After applying and then reapplying my makeup, I decided that even with my nerves causing my hands to shake, this was as good as I was going to get. I opted for a brown smokey eye with gold sparkles that matched my dress. Even after failing the first time, even I had to admit that I looked really good- it was a fine line between sexy and natural, but I somehow managed it. I put on my nude coloured underwear and did my hair, being wary of the time and Emmett rasp on my door to remind me. Once that was complete, I ran my fingers through it, maintaining the volume but loosening up the curls slightly.

I made a straight b-line towards my room, getting dressed quickly and sitting on my bed to put on the nude heels I bought with it. When I stood up I turned towards the mirror assessing every inch of my body to ensure everything was perfect. Sparkling stud earring and a bracelet to match was all the jewellery I wore to top off the look. I was tempted to wear a necklace but I knew how much Zac loved my chest and it looked better without a necklace anyway.

I felt like Barbie as the Sugar Plum Princess... if Barbie was short and curvy, of course.

I looked good and I was beginning to feel good too

"Five minutes, Ali, and then we need to leave!" Emmett called out from behind my door.

"Coming!"

I put the essential makeup items in a nude clutch, along with my phone, house keys and a small vial of perfume. One final look in the mirror and I was complete.

Burney was the first one I saw. His thinning short hair was brushed back and he wore a dark grey suit with a silver bow. A bow!

Emmett towered over him in a dark blue suit and a black tie, his head was facing his watch and he grimaced.

"Bloody hell, Alison!"

"I'm here! No need to shout," I say, and both of the boys look up towards me. "You two look beautiful," I tell them and walk up to them, kissing them on the cheek.

"Far-out, Ali, I don't think I have ever seen you this dressed up," Emmett says. His eyes drop to my feet and travel back up again and I fidget nervously with my dress.

"Is it too much?" I say. If I wasn't already stressed before, I definitely was now.

"It's perfect," Zac interrupts from behind us and I turn to look at him, the feeling of dread inside of me vanishing with just one look from him. The way he was watching me as I walked towards him gave me butterflies in my stomach and my heartbeat to flutter.

He wore and black suit, tailored specifically to his body, with a black undershirt and a dark emerald green tie. His shorter hair now was combed and styed in a way I have never seen before.

"You look... wow," I fumble for words and place my hand on his chest. Everything south of my jumped and I could spend the rest of my life staring at this man in this moment.

He takes my hand in his and kisses the back of it.

"You look like you could stop the stars in their tracks," he responded against my hand, kissing it again and my chest and cheeks began to heat.

"Okay, that's enough PDA for one night, let's go, bitches," Burney says, and I turn around just in time to see Burney's eye's roll.

"So much for matching the tie with my dress," I joke.

"I tried," he calls to me as we walk to the front. He holds up his wrist and at first I see a gold watch. Then as I began to assess his body, moreover, I discovered more flecks of gold. Gold cuff links and a gold tie pin. There was a word for how he looked that I couldn't quite put my finger on... proper... elegant.... Handsome - well yes to all, but... expensive. Zac looked expensive.
