I open the front door, turning the sign back to open.

"You know, you can keep the door locked for the rest of the day and it can just be us in here," he teases which makes me laugh.

"Don't you have work today?" I asked.

"I have the day off," he tells me.

"Lucky me," I say under my breath and I watch him chuckle.

I sit back down in my chair, drinking my coffee. He watches me work for a little, and then I feel his presence behind me.

He brushes my hair to the side and kisses my neck lightly, watching the computer screen. I tilt my head to the side letting him kiss up my neck and lick my earlobe.

Again, I felt like I needed him and the wet pull between my legs only reminded me how badly I needed him.

I turn in my seat abruptly to face him, tilting my head up to kiss him. He leans down and I open my legs for him, for the second time today.

When he parts from me, he brushes a stray hair behind my ear.

"So..." he begins.

"So?" I prompt.

"My birthday is coming up soon," he adds, and I pull even further away from him. I didn't even know when his birthday is.

"When is your birthday?" I ask, and I cannot hide the shock and annoyance in my voice.

"This Saturday," he says.

I look over his face working out the days.

"August 8th?" I confirm and his smile grows. "Oh my god... You're turning 23..."

"Yeah."

"You're so old," I joke, and he laughs. I turn away from him to the screen again.

"You're mad," he says. It wasn't a question, but it wasn't a statement either.

"Yes."

"Why?" he asks, his hand goes around me.

"I feel..."

"You feel?" he prompts me now.

"I feel like we don't know each other."

Throughout the months I have lived with him, I didn't feel like I knew him at all.

"You know me so well."

Probably not as much as Sara, I thought to myself and instantly regretted it.

"I didn't even know your birthday," I say. I felt to the point of tears.

"It's really not a big deal," he says, rubbing my back and trying to reassure me. "You know now, and that's all that matters," he adds.

"I'm just disappointed in myself."

"Please don't be. You know you can ask me anything." He leans around me to plant a swift kiss on my cheek.

"Anything?" I question. He's mentioned this before, but oh how I loved to tease this beautiful man. I turn in my chair to face him. A small cheeky smile grows on his face and I couldn't contain the smile that matched his.

"Yes... Anything," he says, apprehensively.

So many questions travelled in my head, but only one made its way to the front of the list.

"Okay then... what are we going to do for your birthday, old man?"

He bites his bottom lip and chuckles.
