"So you actually caught a spirit peaking around a chair?" Eli asks as he shoves his burger in his mouth "Yeah it was crazy. Corey really freaked out" I say picking up a fry "And this Jennifer is she single?" Alex asks making me laugh "I don't know how am I meant to know" Colby laughs "I'm still surprised that you guys are the first to get engaged. Remember our pact?" Nate says smirking and raising an eyebrow "Oh no" I put my head in my hands. Before we left for LA we made a deal that whenever one of us gets engaged we will go to the abandoned warehouse and stay the night. The person who is engaged has to spend an hour in the murder room on their own "Tonight we return to the abandoned warehouse now because you are both engaged you will have to take turns" "Can't we just do it together?" I ask Nate "No because you two will probably make mini Colbys or Talias" I roll my eyes at Nate "Anyway how are you and Mia?" (Random girls name) I ask Nate, Mia is his girlfriend. They've been together literally forever "I thought it would be you guys getting engaged first" "Honestly I'm not sure. She's been really distant lately every time I ask her on a date or to come over she's busy" "Bro you know I've never liked her" Colby says earning a nudge from me. To be honest every girl the guys have dated have disliked me immediately, except for Kat. I think it's because I'm the only girl in our friendship group "She literally hates my guts" I say playing with my food "Well this just got depressing" Sam says and we all go quiet "I'm going to the toilet I'll be back in a bit" I stand up squishing past Colby. I walk to the toilet and into one of the cubicles. I finish up what I'm doing and walk out to wash my hands, looking at myself in the mirror. Huh lightings pretty good

I walk out the bathroom and back to our table squeezing past Colby once again "We thought you had gotten lost" Sam laughs "Oh shut up" I roll my eyes "Talia have you been to see your Mamá and Abuela?" Eli asks "Colby and I went earlier" Eli nods understanding "Hopefully they approve" Colby chuckles "Dude you know they will of" Nate reply's in a 'duh' tone "if you weren't gonna marry Talia I think her Abuela was going to propose herself" I laugh remembering how she used to flirt with Colby
Flashback "Your a very handsome boy Colby. You've aged well like a fine wine" my Abuela says holding Colbys face "Ma leave the poor boy alone" my Mamá says laughing "It's ok. Thank you Abuela" Colby kisses her on the cheek and I see her blush. I roll my eyes smiling "You know Natalia he reminds me of your abuelito good jaw line, beautiful eyes, what is it you kids say? He was a whole damn pizza" "Abuela do you mean a whole damn snack?" I raise my eyebrows at her "Sí and you my dear look so much like me when I was younger" my Abuela walks over to me and hugs me.
We finish up our food and pay walking out to an Uber to drive us to the fast food place near the walk way to the abandoned warehouse "Thank you" Sam says to the Uber driver paying him "Ok are we all ready to run?" Eli asks "Nope" I breath out making the boys all chuckle "I'm so thankful LA hasn't changed you to much" Nate laughs "Hey I go to the gym don't I babe?" I nudge Colby "Yeah you go but you just walk on the treadmill while on your phone chatting to the girls" "Completely not true" I fold my arms while the boys laugh at me "Right we gotta make this quick so Talia get ready" Sam says adjusting the straps on the back pack that he has on "Ughhh fine" I groan out as Colby takes my hand. We start running across he field and through the woods "Be carful theres poison ivy down here" Sam says holding the branches and bushes back with a stick. Finally we make it to the abandoned warehouse "We haven't been here for a while" I say staring at the large building "Come on" Colby puts his arm around my shoulder and we walk in to the dark. Sam turns on his flashlight as we make our way up to the roof.
