No one really saw this day coming, to be fair.

Liz didn't know how to feel about her mother's wedding day, she didn't have time to feel between shuffling into the bridesmaid's dress and checking if Spencer was okay with  a three year old and two six month old babies while Rose put Diana in her flower girl dress.

And she'd just met her two soon-to-be step brothers, Andrew and James, who were slight assholes for 22 and 25 year olds, but maybe at the age of 31 she thought all young people were assholes. That got her thinking, was she an asshole? She hoped not.

Barging into the room Roger was stationed in, Liz was baffled to only see his two sons instead of him. "Where is your dad?"

Andrew snorted. "No idea."

She huffed. "Get off your asses and get dressed! You are grown men attending your father's wedding so get your act together and find your dad!" She turned, instantly meeting Roger. "Oh. Hi, Roger. Please get your sons in order."

Roger sent her a reassuring smile. "Will do."

She scurried off back to her mother's dressing room, smiling at her mother who stared her reflection down. "Hey, mom. You look beautiful."

Carole Boone had never had a wedding before, despite wanting one so badly. When she married Ted, it was in a courtroom. She was aware that her being in a wedding dress was well overdue. "Thank you, sweetie. Help me put the veil on." Liz did as she was told, smiling when she realized the similarities between today and her very own wedding.

Spinning Carole around, she placed her hands on her shoulders. "Are you sure he hasn't run away?"

"No, he hasn't. Roger is a good guy and even if his sons are assholes, he's good for you. Anyways, it's time."

The wedding venue was literally in Carole's back garden, the sun beating down on them as Liz watched Diana throw flowers down the aisle. She sighed, linking arms with James before rolling her eyes at Rose who had her arm linked with Andrew's as she made heart eyes with Conrad who sat in the second row.

Both pairs walked down the aisle, Liz blowing a kiss to Spencer who sat with their three other children in the very front.

The rest of the day flew by, and the newlyweds insisted on getting family photos.

Liz posed with her family, minus Spencer who silently refused to join every time she motioned it over. "Wait, wait." Carole interrupted. "This isn't the whole family. Spencer, get in here!"

"Really?" He stammered.

She giggled. "Yes! You're part of the family!"

The Rossi mansion had always been a homey place to Liz, but as she stood on the doorstep she couldn't help but feel antsy with papers in her hand, waiting for David to open the door.

He greeted her with a big hug and wide smile, ushering her into the house and offering her a glass of wine to which she declined. "Are you pregnant again?" He narrowed his eyes.

"No! No! God, no." Her features softened, the tenseness leaving her shoulders when he laughed.

"Alright then, what's up? You can tell me anything, bella."

Liz fiddled with the papers in her hand, a long breath escaping her lips before she placed them in front of him. Rossi froze, eyes skimming the paper as tears threatened to fall from them. "I know I'm over 18 so it wouldn't make a difference, but it makes a difference to me. And so if you sign it I'll call you dad or whatever, unless you don't want me to then-"
