(I just want to clear some things up. Maeve will definitely be a part of this book and her death will be one of the biggest parts of Spencer and Liz's relationship. I've made Spencer and Maeve's relationship platonic because I don't think he could cheat on Liz even if he wanted to. I have still kept and entertained the idea that Maeve is in love with Spencer, but that love is unreciprocated. You can think of their relationship as a emotional affair, but it's not portrayed to be an affair.)

"We went insane looking for my wedding band for exactly 4 hours and 52 minutes. Turns out Dee used it as a crown for one of her dolls. It took Ellie 19 minutes to convince her to give the ring back and use one of her older ones." Maeve laughed at the short anecdote Spencer told.

"She sounds amazing. Spencer, I think the stalker's gone."

"Really?"

"I just know, deep inside my gut. No sketchy phone calls, or emails. I think it's over. I want to meet you." Spencer froze. "Did you hear me? I want to meet you, and Liz."

"I heard you."

"What do you think? I think it's time I met my best friend."

Liz sat in her office filling out a report she was mentally scolding herself to do early. A beep sounded from the door handle, and before she knew it, Aaron Hotchner had entered her office and swung the door shut. "When were you going to tell me you got an offer to be Secretary of State?" He questioned, almost angry.

"I wasn't." Liz responded simply, continuing to fill out the report on her desk.

"You have to tell me these things, Elizabeth."

"I wasn't going to tell you because I'm not taking the job." She announced, slamming the file shut.

"What? Have you even thought about it?"

"I've had a month to think about it. I really considered it, too and I haven't considered another job in over 9 years. Spencer and I talked about it, he didn't guide my decision, he doesn't even know my decision. They want my answer by next week and it's no."

"Why?"

"Because once I take that political position, nothing about my life is private anymore. My children will have to live with hands on security everywhere they go. I'll have to watch where I go and what I do, what I say. So will Spencer. It just won't work, not right now."

Hotch nodded, defeated.

The team were working on a case. Blake entered a room, smiling when she found Spencer. "There you are, how's the geographical profiling going?" She greeted. "And why are you doing it in here?"

"It's going good, I'm just having trouble concentrating, so I came in here."

"So what's with you today? Is this about phone booth girl because Spencer, I swear. Liz and I may not be the best of friends but you've got a damn good woman out there as your wife and if you even think of starting an affair with this girl-"

"No! She's just my friend. My best friend." Blake visibly calmed down. "She wants to meet."

"Wait, you guys have never met? Aren't you curious about what she looks like?"

"It doesn't matter what she looks like, she's already my best friend. It's just, what if she doesn't like me? She wants to meet Ellie, too, but what if she likes Ellie better?" Spencer stressed.

"She'll like you, and she'll like Liz equally."

"It's just that Ellie's always had the friends in our relationship. She's known everyone at the BAU the longest, she has connections all over the world. She's closer with everyone."
