Set of Rules

Alright, ladies and gentlemen. Let's start from the kind-of beginning.

Elizabeth had been working at the BAU for a couple of years now, becoming close friends with her entire team. She loved her title as Agent, even if it was Agent Bundy. SSA Bundy. Never thought you'd hear that, huh?

The group were experiencing a lack of cases, so they decided one weekend to go out for drinks. Elizabeth and Spencer had a set of rules to follow.

1. Liz isn't allowed to spike Spencer's drink, or let Morgan do it.
2. For safety reasons, neither are allowed to leave with someone or alone without telling the other.
3. Don't let Spencer near a darts game, last time he almost got hit in the face.
4. Don't let Liz get too aggressive with pool, or else she'll break the god damn table.
5. Stick to the rules.

Now out of those five rules, only one was broken and it was Morgan's fault. Derek Morgan had had so much joy in being slightly drunk with Liz as Spencer watched, he decided to spike the doctor's drink and leave to find someone to dance with, leaving a drunk Liz and Spencer behind.

One thing led to another, and the pair of best friends found themselves in Spencer's apartment, clothes carelessly thrown across the floor, blankets and duvets hanging off the bed and the pair full ass cheek naked.

Embarrassment was prevented, thanks the Elizabeth waking up, realizing the situation, silently screaming and picking up her clothes and leaving the apartment carefully, all as Spencer softly snored in the bedroom.

It wasn't that Liz was embarrassed, well she was, but not ashamed. She knew it was stupid to sleep with a coworker, and one she had feelings for too. She also knew it was stupid to have feelings for a coworker. She didn't know what attracted her to him. Was it that he had no problem touching her like he did with others? Maybe because they confided in each other? Maybe because of his high cheekbones, defined jaw, and gorgeous looks? Maybe because around her, he wasn't so shy and they'd actually joke around?

All she knew is that she liked him so much, she gave him the nickname 'Penny'. Her excuse was that it came from S'pen'cer and that 'pen' was a boring nickname. In reality, she just wanted something special that was just between them.

Now that you're caught up to speed, how long ago was that? It was last week, and Liz had successfully spent the entire week avoiding Spencer due to no cases. She went to the office, collected paperwork and sat in Hotch's office with him, working together and sipping on coffee. And to say that the genius was confused was an understatement.

Let's go back to present time.

Elizabeth sat on the seat of the jet, awaiting her boss and Morgan, hoping that Jason Gideon would be joining to group on their flight to Seattle. She had no idea Spencer Reid was joining them on their trip.

Her eyes shot up, instantly meeting those of Gideon's. She hopped to her feet, grinning as the older man caught her in a hug. "Gideon. Good to see you."

"Lizzy. Good to see you too." He smiled, as the group sat back down Liz's eyes set themselves on Spencer's figure, her body becoming paralyzed as he made eye contact. She quickly looked away, putting her sunglasses on and closing her eyes, sending herself into a sleep-like state. "Liz, you can't sleep, we're about to have a case briefing." Gideon's voice was stern, almost as if he were scolding her. It was normal for the two, he'd known her since she was 16.

"I can hear you. Sunglasses make me look awake. And I've already read the case."

"She does this all the time, don't worry." Spencer voiced, sending a shiver down Liz's spine. "His first victim was 26-year-old Melissa Kirsh. Stab wounds, strangulation."
