(Hello everyone! This is going to be a 10k special and the Hotch chapter no one wanted but whatever. First off, I just want to say thank you so much for 10k, genuinely. This book is so badly written and the plot is so jumbled I'm surprised anyone has read it, so thank you.

Second, happy new year and Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! 2020 was kinda shit, so let's hope for a better 2021. Please keep social distancing and wearing those masks if we want everything to go back to normal!! I did take a long break from writing Paranoia mostly for Christmas and new year, but I'm back and I'm going to try my best for more consistent, fast chapters.

Also!!!!! Please go read 'Princess' if you like MGG! I think it's a lot better than this book.

Enjoy!

And yes, this is based off of Heather by Conan Gray, sue me. The beginning is set in season 1, when Liz and Spence get together and soon it'll progress.)

I still remember the third of December, me in your sweater
You said it looked better on me than it did you

Aaron Hotchner's feelings were almost never hurt, and they'd never been hurt by her.

He had no right to be hurt, especially since he was about to be a father and that they'd decided to remain strictly friends. She was never his and the worst part was that he was always hers.

He knew something had happened over the weekend, a shift between her and him.

Liz came into work that morning, ten minutes after Spencer, clad in a blue cardigan that would've looked bigger on her if the sleeves weren't rolled up to her elbows. he knew her wardrobe, he knew she'd never buy a dark blue cardigan, but there was one person who would.

Only if you knew how much I liked you
But I watch your eyes as she walks by

He watched their interactions, how whenever Liz would get up, Spencer's eyes would remain on her, trailing after her.

The doctor was lovesick, and by the looks of it, so was she.

Aaron Hotchner did not have the heart to call them into his office when he saw them stealing kisses by the coffee machine, or both of them disappearing into a storage cupboard. He didn't have the heart to destroy her happiness like that.

He just wished he was her happiness.

What a sight for sore eyes
Brighter than the blue sky
She's got you mesmerised while I die

He was everything any man or woman had ever wanted, how could he be so stupid?

It was her birthday, her 24th birthday. It had been a little over a year since he'd accepted that she was never his. Liz had been through enough, such as her miscarriage and Elle's abrupt departure. He now had a beautiful son, a wife.

Why was he stood outside of her doors, flowers in hand?

Aaron Hotchner was ready to knock, but he couldn't. Not when he heard the soft laughs of Spencer, and the joyous squeals from Liz.

Why would you ever kiss me?
I'm not even half as pretty

Their age gap never got to him, but now he's starting to think it should've. 10 years is a lot, isn't it?

Maybe that's what doomed their 'relationship' in the beginning. Not Haley, or Spencer, it was them and their differences. No matter how mature Liz was, Aaron Hotchner would always feel like an old man compared to her.
