A Cause For Concern

Spencer put down both toddlers he was carrying as the family of 6 entered their home, Liz ruffling Lyle's hair and pulling Diana close.

She sighed dreamily. "Home sweet home. Dee, are you sure you're okay, baby?"

"I'm completely fine, mom." She exasperated. It the few hours she'd been back, Diana had been heavily bombarded with 'are you okay's' and various other check ins. Truth be told, she didn't know if the trauma would kick in later, but she felt completely fine. "I'm just going to take a shower and get some school work done."

Spencer looked at his wife, slightly worried. "You sure you want to go back to school so soon, bug? Your mom and I are taking a few days off."

Diana shrugged nonchalantly. "I don't mind going back."

And with that, all four children sauntered off, leaving two extremely confused parents. "She gets that from you."

The next week, she grabbed her coat. "I'm going down the road to Clara's!"

Still hesitant to let he be alone, Spencer pursed his lips. "Be back by 4!"

Stepping outside and making sure her father wasn't anywhere near the abnormally large windows, Diana got on her bicycle, making the 7 minute journey to her parents' office. She got past security easily with a visitor's pass, nervously wringing her hands as another person stepped onto the elevator. She looked up at the man, tilting her head. "You're Luke Alvez, right? You worked on my case with the BAU. Thank you."

Luke smiled, shaking the girl's outstretched hand as he inwardly marveled at her sophistication. "Yeah, you're welcome. You're Liz and Reid's kid, right?"

She nodded proudly. "Don't tell them I'm here, they think I'm at the neighbor's."

Before he could respond, she scurried away as soon as the doors opened, sprinting towards Aaron Hotchner's office. Diana knocked on the door as forcefully as she could. "Come in." Swinging the door open, she took the moment where Aaron hadn't looked up from his file to sit in the chair before him. When he did look up at her, his eyes narrowed, head tilted. "What are you doing here? Your parents are taking time off. Does your mother know you're here?"

"No." He reached for his phone. "Please don't tell them. I only have 3 hours and 11 minutes until I have to be home, and I don't want to talk to anyone else."

He pursed his lips, nodding. "Is this about Marceau?"

"So when I was with him. I started building a profile on him as a coping mechanism, you know? Just identify little things and everything. And I've been thinking about my profile and all, obviously I can't forget it, but I don't want to talk to a therapist and my parents are already over worrying for nothing, Uncle Derek and Aunt Emily are gone, so you're my next best option."

Aaron offered her a tight lipped smile. "Would you like to share the profile with me?"

"He displayed severe narcissistic and psychopathic trace, also being extremely meticulous and careful. He best fit the model of a possessive celebrity stalker, like Mark David Chapman. He felt unappreciated and ignored when mom didn't pursue him, but instead of going after dad, he went straight after her to teach her a lesson. He definitely asserts his dominance, making it his key component to getting whatever he wants. But through all that, he just wanted to be seen."

He sighed, blown away by the young girl's knowledge. It wasn't always just her he was blown away with, the other Reid children were all immensely talented with such intense knowledge, he'd been left breathless by Lyle's advanced art skills every time he paints. "How'd you know all of this?"

Diana shrugged. "I read. I read books, I go on the internet, sometimes I read case files when my parents aren't around. I just, I needed some kind of understanding as to why people like him do things like this. Please don't tell my parents."
