It had been roughly 3 months since the Riley Jenkins case and the birth of Henry and Liz had come to a conclusion.

Lots of things led Liz to this conclusion.

Her desire to stay away from all things grilled.

Her constant need to eat nuts, peanut butter, and lots of other foods.

Her constant vomiting that she hid from Spencer, making sure to only vomit in the guest bedroom bathroom while he as asleep or working on a case.

Her suspicions were proven to be correct when the three Clearblue pregnancy tests all said 'positive'. She even bought the expensive digital ones that told her how many weeks along she was, and according to a white stick she was 9 weeks pregnant.

Her last pregnancy only last 8 weeks.

The team had just finished a case, and everyone found it slightly odd when Liz refused to go out onto the field, see the crime scene or go to the ME. Instead, she opted to stay at the police department.

Liz and Spencer finally got home and the doctor immediately went to the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water. The former chose to sink into the sofa, allowing herself to let out a shaky sigh before calling out. "Penny, honey, come sit for a minute."

He complied, sitting next to her ready to wrap his arm around her. He furrowed his eyebrows when she moved away slightly to sit up straighter. "I wanted to tell you when I knew I was sure, but then I'd probably never tell you."

"What is it? Do you want a divorce?" Spencer's voice went an octave higher in pure panic and fear.

"No! No way! Never!" He smiled in relief. "I'm, actually hold on. Wait. Let me get you coffee." She scurried off to the kitchen, reaching as high as she could to get a specific mug she'd been gifted a few years ago.

It was a plain, white mug, but at the bottom it said the words 'you're going to be a dad!'. This made Liz giggle as she made the coffee in it, knowing that when he finished the cup he might have a stroke.

After pouring an ungodly amount of sugar into the hot drink and stirring, she brought the mug over, handing it to him. "I think it's best if you drink this cup really fast."

He nodded, slightly suspicious of the contents but drinking it anyways. He knew that if Liz was going to kill him, she'd do better than poison.

He gulped, over and over without a single word until at one point he began choking on the liquid- that's right, Liz's reveal made him choke on coffee. She laughed loudly, clapping him on the back as he began calming down, no longer wheezing. "I'm uh, I'm going to be a what?"

"You're going to be a dad. I'm pregnant, Penny." She dug into her purse, taking out the 3 positive tests.

"You're pregnant! Oh my god, how long have you know?"

"I had my suspicions during the case and before, I took the tests earlier today. I'm 9 weeks along." She spoke giddily. The smiles on their faces were physically hurting their cheeks.

"9 weeks!" Spencer exclaimed, picking Liz's small frame up and spinning her around before putting her down and bringing her in for a long, passionate, love-filled kiss. They broke apart, forehead's still joined and their breaths heavy. "You know what this means?"

"No going out on the field, no alcohol, no bullshit."

"That's right."

"Can we wait to tell the team? Just until the 12th week, so we're out of the danger zone."

"Fine with me, sweetheart. Whatever you want."

-----

2 weeks had passed and Liz was no longer keeping her vomiting and distaste for grilled food a secret from Spencer.
