new year's eve

It was mayhem downstairs that morning, everyone was set their tasks and we were determined to complete them in hopes of a less stressful new year's eve. I had been set the task of streamers and decorations as Molly said I had 'an eye for things like that' I had 'mione help me with them as she had unsurprisingly already finished her tasks.

Molly had planned an extravagant party for lots of people, some that I had met like Luna and her dad and others that I was yet to meet. I was so excited for the party, the only people i've talked to are the Weasleys, Hermione and Harry. Yes, they are great but I was afraid of going mad only talking to the same people.

"Okay I won't be a sec I just have to get a couple more balloons" I called out to 'mione from across the living room.

"Gold or black?" I asked.

"Definitely black" she said confidently.

At this I walked from the living room and walked towards the kitchen. On my way towards the kitchen I was met with my familiar red head. We both squished past eachother in the slim corridor.

"Well hello there, fancy seeing you here" I smiled.

"Sorry I don't think i've seen you around before, i'm Ron" he held out his hand the other one gripping onto a box of decorations. I smacked his hand down and walked off.

"You're an idiot!" I shouted back to him and heard him laugh.

"You started it!" he defended.

I finally reached the kitchen and saw Ginny helping Molly to prepare food for tonight, however she didn't seem like it was her choice. I saw her looking longingly out the window and thought she was probably daydreaming about quidditch, with Harry of course.

"Hey!" I said cheerily. As soon as the word exited my mouth Ginny spun round and run towards me and pounced herself onto my body.

"Please save me from this torture" she whispered in my ear.

"Sorry Gin i'm only here for balloons and on that note. Hi Molly do you have any more balloons I could steal?" I questioned.

"Oh yes of course they're just inside the cupboard" she pointed to the cupboard near. I pulled myself from Ginny's grasp and pulled out the balloons.

"Love you Gin" I said as I ran from the kitchen straight into the living room.

When I entered the room 'mione had clearly been hard at work as the decorations had since doubled.

"Damn it looks good in here, well done 'mione!" I praised and she lightly blushed.

"And us two as well!" Harry protested. I turned to see them playing wizards chess, Ron looking very concentrated...and hot.

"Yeah sure seems like it" I raised my eyes at them. However, neither of them took the effort to move their eyes to meet mine.

The clock read 6:00 which meant I had 2 hours to get ready. I quickly jumped in the shower and washed away the hard work from the morning. It was nice to finally shower with two able arms, me and Ron had both gotten our casts removed due to an all clear from the Weasleys family doctor. It was freeing not having a cast and it meant that I was able to play quidditch back at school, Ron being a bit more thrilled than me.

I got out of the shower and trudged up to Ginny's room. Both girls were already curling their hair.

"Jeez thanks for waiting for me!" I joked.
