"A shot of the strongest drink you have." You walked to the bar, holding up a finger. The bartender nodded his head and went to get your drink.
"The strongest drink?" A deep voice came from your side. You turned your head and saw a blond man, looking right at you. He was leaning against the counter with his elbow, his body facing you.
"Yeah," you sighed, sitting on a stool. He chuckled softly, shaking his head. He took a seat on the stool next to you as the bartender put the shot in front of you. You glanced at the man beside you before taking the shot. The alcohol burned against your throat but you were expecting that. You were still sober so you weren't worried. You turned to the man who held a shocked expression. "What?"
He shook his head, fixing his expression before he said, "I thought you were kidding." You giggled softly and waved your hand a little.
"I kinda needed it," you said. He raised an eyebrow, making you continue. "I was stood up and have to third wheel for my friend, Eve, and her current boyfriend, Brian." You pointed to the back where your friend was dancing with another man. "Never mind, she probably ditched him." You faced the man who held his gaze on your friend. "She never sticks to one man longer than two weeks. She hasty when it comes to life." The man looked at you.
"And you?" He asked. You looked away from him and shook your head.
"I take things slow," you said, looking back at him. He smiled softly.
"Me too." You smiled as a blush crept up on you. "I'm Steve." He extended his hand for you.
"I'm [Y/N]," you replied, shaking his hand.
