The Mad Ram

A few days go past and I was just walking around Manberg with Schlatt and Snowflake.

We've been going this for a while now, just walking around and seeing Manberg in all it's glory. Me and Schlatt were on speaking terms, and he kinda changed after I spoke to him all those days ago.

But by him changing- I meant he changed how he acted around me. When he spoke with others, he still acted how he usually would.

People are scared of him still, some were just lying their way through conversations.

And... another thing I noticed. Schlatt seemed a little... off.

It was just slightly, but enough for me to notice.

He would ask me more and more questions of where I've been, he's asked me to do more and more tasks for him, and he'd stay around me more and more.

I think it's because when he saw me that morning, he knew something was up. Which wouldn't really surprise me as much as I would like it to.

"Hey, Y/N" Schlatt suddenly says, breaking my thoughts

"Hmm?" I hum

"I'd like to discuss the upcoming war with Pogtopia" he says

Oh yes. The war.
I've wondered about it, since I've heard rumors from Karl and Fundy.
But hearing Schlatt mention it was quite the surprise. A treat if you will.

"We've got valuable assets on our side. Dream is one of them." He mentions

"Dream? You're trusting Dream?" I questioned

"Oh come on, how bad could he actually be? He allowed me to invite you here. Free to stay, no charge necessary" Schlatt mentioned

"Does he usually want money from newbies to enter these lands?" I ask

"No... I'm just saying- he decides who stays and who leaves. He kicked me out on my first day in this place" Schlatt mentions

"Oh? You never mentioned this to me" I muttered

"That's because it wasn't really necessary. I mean- it would be a waste of perfectly cut paper!" He stated

I shrugged off his reply.
I mean- how did we even get this conversation to start off with speaking about war, but then move it onto talking about paper..?

"A-anyways... I've told you about the TNT Wilbur planted, right?" Schlatt asked

"Briefly over the past few days... yes..." I muttered

"That's still going to be there during the war" He says, walking away from me

I blinked a few times before walking after him, speeding up my pace.

"You're just- You're just going to leave it there?? What happens if it sets off..!!" I exclaimed

Schlatt stops and just turns around to face me, a smug toothy grin was plastered onto his face.

"Y/N, do you think I give a damn if it's set off??" He says

My body tensed up after hearing what he said. I was surprised.
He didn't care..?

"During the war, if I end up getting overthrown or killed, this nation is going down with me. That's a fact." He states

"Why are you acting childish..? If you cant have it- no one can? That's how you see it?? Johnathan..! What the hell is wrong with you??" I exclaimed

"DONT CALL ME THAT" He shouts at me

I look a step back. His raised voice frightened me a little and I averted my gaze.
